police respond to magpie attacks

there has been a magpie swooping people in the main street in my town for a few weeks, providing lulz and excitement to many people, either watching people getting attacked, or getting attacked themselves.

late yesterday afternoon out-of-town police showed up, in tac gear, and shot the magpie.

fucking cops...

In tac gear, oh for God's sake, the poor darn thing. There is a couple round here, but because it is very much close to the CBD they dont swoop for some reason.

Poor darn magpie, having to have police in tac gear turn up to get him. Sheesh.

Good ole police....Kill em boys lets show them birds who's in charge around here. It is the classical gang mentality of the cops, always shoot first.

out of town coppers...what did the local coopers have to say....those dudes are usually very territorial

Riding my bmx when I was a kid attracted the magpies to swoop down and go for the helmet. Those were the days.

i think theres some rule about who is allowed to shoot birds in the street.

local area command is in another town, so the TRG have to come from away.

plus, our popo shop burnt down a few months ago, so they operate out of a mobile command centre, otherwise known as a bus

it burnt down, he,he, and they operate out of a bus.................

Still feel sorry for the poor little fella.

Oh Good God, you have to be joking, can't everybody where a helmet with eyes drawn on the back.

I've tried using cable ties with the ends poking up out my helmet and got smacked right on the scone last year LOL

Oh ya poor buggar S, I suppose their only doing it to protect their nests, or so I am told.

I wonder if they killed the babies or let them starve.

Never mind I have 6 families of magpies on my farm - and they all say hello now.

The only time one ever swooped me was when its baby fell out the nest and had to spend the last few days of growing up sat at the bottom of the tree. She was just letting me know to be careful with my mower :)

We all get along just fine.

There you go, gee I forgot about the poor babies, bloody stupid cops.

My goodness there are a lot of swooping going on down under!!! lol

We like the magpies here - they are brilliant for letting you know when a snake is nearby.

Their very sharp where that is concerned for sure.
