| my heart is still so full from participating in the medicine wheel, there is almost no room for words... but i will try
the people gathered and watched as the ground was consecrated and cleansed and made ready for the ceremony
a circle made by stones on the high desert earth and divided into four sections symbolizing the four directions
a man from lakota tribe played flute as the people were smudged with feather and sage, one by one, before entering the circle
as soon as every person had found their place within the circle, the prayers began
rebecca, a beautiful indian woman, led the prayers
she spoke of the clans: fire / air / earth / water and of the grandfather sun / grandmother moon and of the elders / warriors past who were all around to help us and guide us and of the furry four-legged helpers and the winged creatures
and with every prayer, there was respect and honor for the earth and the seasons and the star people and after every prayer, the people said "ah ho" and spread sweet smelling dried plants from the herb basket: lavender and sage and sweet grass and chamomile
and it was good
butterflies came into the circle - fire ants were busy in the earth - the sun shone brightly and there were no clouds in the sky and the winds brushed past us gently and whispered in our ears as we listened and prayed
and tears trickled down my face as i set my crystals on the earth in front of the blanket i sat on and i crushed the herbs and sprinkled them on the four crystals and as rebecca spoke of the four directions, the clans and the cycles i felt such loving energy
and my questions received their answers
and then we passed the eagle feather around the circle and the people added their prayers to the ceremony, some were silent offerings, some were voiced, and every prayer was of gratitude and respect and love and honoring...
and my prayer was brief: thank you for letting me wake up, help me to spread this energy wherever i go, guide me to my purpose, i am so grateful - and then i passed the eagle feather to sis and told her i loved her and the feather continued around to the beginning...
at the end of the ceremony, we were invited to take a stone from the pile in the center of the wheel, and i waited till almost last to choose, and there it was, sparkling up at me, and i scooped it up and held its vibration and slipped it into my leather pouch to join the four crystals and some of the sweet herb mixture
and now the tears well up again just remembering...
and when i take the stones out of the pouch today and lay them on the earth in the sun and sprinkle them with the herbs i will send each and every one of you this energy
because i love you
~* ah ho *~

| there is fluorite in the center, with a bit of the herbs on it; sis gave me this stone for my birthday the purple and green are my favorite color combination from the center, the four crystals of similar size are each different; i have had these crystals with me since the harmonic convergence when i participated at a sunrise ceremony on Mt Tamalpais in California starting on the right and moving clockwise: to the east is the citrine quartz, for grandfather sun/ it points to a large clear crystal i have had for some time... to the south is the clear quartz crystal for grandmother moon/ it points to a piece of selenite found here at the campsite to the west is the green hued crystal for water/ it points to the rounded, clear piece of fluorite i received at the medicine wheel and to the north is the black crystal with ghost image for the ancestors/ it points to a medium size clear quartz crystal, with me for awhile the pouch was given to me as a gift from Kim, whose photo is on our blog - she has been our friend since childhood and she was the last person we spoke to as we began our journey... she made it just for me all the stones sit on a big rock in front of our cabin, backing the firepit enjoy | |

I have been away myself ... in the blue mountains, breathing clean air :)
I am back now in Sydney -- it smells of Diesel :(
I have some catching up to do - I see the forum got busier while I was gone

| awesome, indeed
i have slept with the fluorite stone which was in the center of the wheel throughout the ceremony, i cannot seem to get enough of it, or the vibrations
i feel inspired to make our own wheel here, in order to say prayers every morning at sunrise
i may start to "build" today, you guys have re-inspired me
i will think of it as our very own swine flu vaccine..... | |

| First of all I have to admit that I only read this thread of yours, WH today for the first. Thanks for sharing this BTW. Now last week, I think either Tues or Wed morning when I woke up, I opened my eyes and there was this greenish energy, like a kolidiscope that I was looking through. I have never had that experience before and did not know what it was. Wasn't a dream cause I was wide awake and just lying there. It was not a frightening experience in the least, just a warm feeling. Now today I read that you had sent this to us all. Well I guess I can say that I received it and thank you so much for doing this. Much love to you and your sister for thinking of us! | |
