Couple Pleads For Safe Return Of Laptop Containing Cancer Cure Research

Found this on a music forum and thought WTF?

Its a news report about a laptop that was stolen from two cancer researchers that work in OU Lab which I'm guessing is Oklahoma University ?

Whats odd is that their whole research was on a laptop ? WTF?

How come they didn't keep their research on the Uni system ?

So many questions come to mind. Very odd indeed.

No backup? Years worth of research and nothing saved or printed off? Who is paying these people? You would think that the thing on your shoulders might recall what the breakthrough was.

Big Pharma hire a thug to break into their car? Hate for a cure to come out wouldn't they?

Wow, even when I write e-mails I always it back up or store it offline if it's something important.

Sure they did a stupid thing leaving their Mac on the back seat of a car. A good chance for any opportunist to steal it, but I cannot believe that all that work was not stored someplace else as well.

If something was that precious, then even the smartest people are dumb to leave it in plain view for a thief.

Watchword for today is BACKUP everything!!
