sunny

well yesterday all those plants finally got in the ground..in my little kitchen garden...and today's rain is doing it's job
and if i can only get the mulching done..it will be just wait to eat em..

soooooooooooooooo here's what it looked like late yesterday

garden update Hpim1119

the sign is in the parsley last years is going to seed and this year's just coming up
right behind it are the chives
and to the side some carrots and beets
then the peas with some garlic transplants in front of them

as you can see not real large in size..but we have tucked in just about everything
i only started the tomatoes from seed..but a lot of the others i bought in 6 paks
and potted into larger pots so they would have some root room while we waited for the weather
the strawberries are doing well and i snipped off the first set of blossoms even though it hurt

volunteer dill around the bottom of the strawberry tube
and to the left wild ginger..left over from when this was my herb garden and some kholrabi
on the other side around the tree are lettuces, spinach and shallots and green onions

we experiment all the time so this year is no exception and we are growing determinate tomatoes (only about 4' tall) in the circle
and the indetermines (just keep growing) along the fence with some herbs behind them and next to the fence
hubby dragged that cement culvert in and we put a couple zucchini plants in it

herbs between the indertermine tomatoes are from top to bottom
borage and pennyroyal
rosemary
french tarragon
sage
basil

and then two lemon verbena's ..if i'm lucky i can get two years out of them and they will get nice and big
and lavendar at the entrances..so when you walk past you brush against it

the furthest circle has 6 green sweet peppers and six savoy cabbages
another circle has 6 red sweet peppers 6 celery and 6 cauliflower
and down in back of the peas are a half role of pole beans and a half row of cukes..both to climb on my little pea fence
and behind them 6 yellow sweet peppers and 6 broccoli

the potatoes out in the new box raised bed has straw and dried grass piling up but the onions and garlic need mulched yet..

so you can see there is a lot there

garden update Hpim1124

i sure hope that gives some of you guys some iencouragement to grow something..anything..
it is work..but you get sooooooo much back besides something to munch on

happy gardening
flower

Zuni

do a google map of his address and then go in as close as you can and see if there is an alternative road/s you can take..

just a thought

be careful on the roads..drivers are busy phoning instead of driving.. peek a boo

moon walk

ok.. updating the update...
good news: we have had lots of rain and heat so things are growing nicely..
bad news..that same weather helps the bugs to overpopulate..yuk

it's overcast today but here's the garden just a few minutes ago

garden update Hpim2012

zucchini doing nicely..and so are the tomatoes..the ones surrounding it are determinates..which means they only grow about 4 feet and then stop
garden update Hpim2013

the indeterminates are along the fence and over by the greenhouse
there we have the not able to downsize ..sigh..but i am out of tomatoe juice so that is my excuse for
having so many plants..the bushie things are cukes

oh yeah there are more on the other side of the house..that's another experiment to see if we can keep them growing till thanksgiving..it's protected on that side

Great pics! cheers
question for you regarding the parsley---if I let it go to seed, will it reseed itself naturally?

moon walk

Louise..yes it will

for me..i will get two years sometimes three from parsley before it goes to seed..
i try to put new seed in the ground everyyear in the same patch as the old stuff
and i let some of the old stuff reseed
but i collect most of the seed for another patch or another year..

that stuff going to seed made it thur all those inches of snow

Wow, all your hard work on the vegies sky, I am thinking it must save you a lot not having to buy these plus they are way better for you eating wise.

As soon as I get in somewhere it is planting time, then I will try and photo what I get I hope here for you all.
