The Lost Symbol is a 2009 novel by American writer Dan Brown.[2][3] It is a thriller set in Washington, D.C., after the events of The Da Vinci Code.
Plot The story takes place over a period of 12 hours in Washington, D.C., with a focus on Freemasonry.[6] Robert Langdon is summoned to give a lecture in National Statuary Hall at the United States Capitol, with the invitation apparently from his mentor, a 33rd degree Mason named Peter Solomon, who is the head of the Smithsonian Institution. Solomon has also asked him to bring a small package which he had entrusted with Langdon for safekeeping years earlier. When Langdon arrives at the Capitol, however, instead of an audience for his lecture, and after receiving a phone call from the person that he thought was from Solomon's office he hears screams coming from the Capitol Rotunda. Running, he finds the severed right hand of Peter Solomon mounted on a stick, directly in the middle of the room. The hand contains tattoos on each finger, and Langdon recognizes it as the symbolic 'Hand of the Mysteries', which seemingly points straight up to the fresco The Apotheosis of Washington on the inside of the Capitol dome. Noticing Peter's ring on one of the hand's fingers, Langdon realizes that it is the hand of his kidnapped friend, and from messages already received he knows that the kidnapper wants him to find both the Mason's Pyramid, which Masons believe is hidden somewhere underground in Washington D.C., and the Masons' word which will complete the task that the kidnapper has given himself.
Soon the head of the Capitol police arrives, followed by the head of the CIA's Office of Security, Inoue Sato. As Langdon begins to analyze the tattoos on the hand, he tells Sato that if the fingers of the hand are moved, more tattooing will be found. She opens the fingers, and finds another clue, which eventually they all figure out points them down instead of up. They journey to a neglected and almost unknown portion of the capitol's sub-basement, and in a small room find Peter Solomon's Masonic Altar which many Masons construct in their home to remind them of the fleeting nature of life. A skull and other symbolistic items adorn the altar, but when a candle is lit the group notices that one wall seems to be moving in the slight breeze. When what turns out to be a curtain is moved aside, a small pyramid with no capstone is found, with words carved into it, which obviously will take Langdon to the next stop on his search to find the word in time to save his kidnapped friend.
Now William Henry's work parallels a lot of info in this movie...
What would it mean to discover that the U.S. Capitol is a temple of ascension, one that can be used to tap into a Higher Power? Today, it means everything!
Thomas Jefferson called the U.S. Capitol a temple dedicated to the sovereignty of the people. Its builders called it a “Temple of Liberty.” Indeed, the U.S. Capitol was intended as a sacred space, a temple for the people.
Now, for the first time ever, the profound meaning of the spiritual imagery and artwork of the Capitol is revealed. It has the potential to raise your consciousness and the consciousness of America to a new level.
Investigative mythologist and author, William Henry, takes you on a journey like never before. A true original work on the Capitol, co-authored with Dr. Mark Gray, Freedom’s Gate will change the way we look at the Capitol and challenge those who enter its halls to remember the sacredness of this place and of America.
No matter your belief system or religious affiliation you’ll find inspiration in the pages of FREEDOM’S GATE. It is for any one around the world who aspires to true Freedom. It contains a powerful vision for your future and for the future of America.
The seeds of universal wisdom of Egypt, India and Tibet that came to fruition in America unfold through hundreds of color pictures. This e-book is the best way we have found to immediately share this powerful inspiration.
A few of the things you’ll learn:
• The Dome of the U.S. Capitol is a mirror image of the Vatican Dome and was thought of as a recreation of Solomon’s Temple by its builders. • The art of the interior corridors of the Capitol mirrors Vatican art. • Higher Wisdom flows through the Capitol’s spiritual imagery and artwork. • The bell-shaped Capitol Dome is a stupa that creates a vortex or field of energy that extends into the world. • The Freemasons who built the Capitol viewed it as a ‘beehive’ buzzing with energy. • Literally, we can alter this energy field by visiting the Capitol Dome and praying or meditating inside. This will raise the frequency of the Dome and the Capitol, helping to clear out negative or harmful energies. • This is the great secret of the Founding Fathers. They left us a bell to ring in times of distress. Let Freedom’s Ring!
More than just a Capitol guide, FREEDOM’S GATE is an investigation into profound spiritual mysteries and a way for you to tap into the higher consciousness and powerful wisdom of the enlightened masters and the Founding Fathers. Their words are plain, simple and intended to empower. The rare illustrations lift your spirit and elevate your mind con't

October 2009 - William Henry
Maybe it is complete coincidence that Dan Browns' latest book contains almost exactly the same information as William Henry's latest book, Freedom's Gate, prompting some readers to ask William if Dan has been sitting in his lectures! What is more important is that the information that William has uncovered about the lost symbols of the U.S. capitol are absolutely fascinating and you should read his book before you read Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol" for a much more enjoyable and informed read! The message of this interview is clear - the dome is your own head and freedom can only be obtained by "owning your own dome".

Disney Channell ( ) had a two hour special on this and I was surprised to hear one of the speakers that of course was objecting much of this book, said Oh Yeah, they have conspiracy theories out there saying we have reptilians running the world.....
OH if I had false teeth, I would of had to pick them up........she said it fast but it was clear and the person doing the stories let it fly right over LOL LOL
I do with they would of said a whole lot more on all the symbols.........that Jordan Maxwell discusses. Now that would really be worth watching on TV

Hey M what did you think of this book?
i have a remarkable story about it..no i haven't read it yet but my mother got a copy at the library..she had to have it and yes we have read the previous ones
so here is a very religious 88 almost 89 yr old catholic woman i give her age and belief system only so you can imagine her frame of life references
she told me this morning that she finished it and the end was something else but she had a hard time with the book because (here's the best part) because she had a hard time keeping it as fiction it kept slipping into non fiction for her
pretty wild i thought and an example of someone waking up how great is that..

Well I have to be honest, my wife is reading it. She says it is really good. I have been so busy I haven't tackled it yet. Funny I was thinking about starting today.

Has anybody else read this book?
I really recommend it. I won't spoil it by talking too much about it. However there is some really good info being talked about that parallels things that we discuss on the forum.
The plot is very good also.
It talks about the masons, symbology (of course) and most importantly to me the true meaning of some of the bible's scriptures.
