In a Season of Change ~ June 29 to July 5, 2009

We have entered a season of change. The Pluto-Sun opposition that
dominated the Solstice birth chart has set the theme for three months
of important transitions. In this past week alone, we've seen the
passing of several icons who represented various facets of our
collective personality and themes in our shared history. Because these
were events noticed around the world, no doubt these passings
symbolized traits or issues that we are ready to release on a larger
scale, in preparation for realignment with our higher natures.

And now, we look not only to the influences of the coming week, but
also to the next six weeks, as we are already stepping into the
energies that surround eclipses. Just a reminder that we have three
eclipses instead of the usual two in the coming series -- which again
earmarks this as a time of important shifts in direction and
awareness. The first of the three is a lunar eclipse on July 7, the
second a solar eclipse on July 22, and the third another lunar eclipse
on August 6.

Uranus is centerstage this week, calling us to hear the beat of the
drum that is pounding in our souls. On Tuesday, Uranus comes to a
standstill in the heavens. This temporary "station" is of course not
literal, but rather is an optical illusion as seen from Earth's
perspective, as our orbit and the orbit of Uranus shift in
relationship.

A planet's influence is generally strengthened for a week on either
side of the station date. Uranus represents the ways in which we
differentiate ourselves from others and proclaim our independence from
society's rules -- so we are more likely now to rebel against others'
expectations, and to listen more specifically to the inner voice that
tells us we can be -- and need to be -- true to ourselves and in
alignment with our higher self.

Uranus will be retrograde (appearing to go backward) in Pisces until
December 1. When a planet is retrograde, its influence is said to be
felt more internally than externally. And so it may be that we see
more unexpected eruptions that seem to come from inner volcanos over
the next few months.

Individually, we may feel the outer changes we make are initiated by
shifts that have occurred deep within. With the help of Uranus
retrograde, the emotions and spiritual/creative energy that drive the
changes may finally be brought to the surface.

The Triad (Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter) in Aquarius continues to
generate support for acknowledging and healing the wounds that have
kept us in fear of separation and abandonment. Their work overlaps
that of Uranus, since all four planets are interacting with Mercury,
V*enus and the Sun this week.

Wednesday seems to be pivotal, with Mercury receiving the full impact
of the planetary energies. The trine from the Triad indicates that our
consciousness will be more open than usual to interdimensional
messages, as well as to creative insights and signals from our
intuition.

On the other hand, the Uranus-Mercury square usually means the arrival
of an unexpected awareness or message. If this occurs, remember that
we work most easily with Uranus when we are flexible and openminded --
traits which, thankfully, the Triad should be helping us achieve.

The Triad and Uranus also form aspects with V*enus on Wednesday,
focusing their attention on our relationships to other people and to
our material world. This is a continuing process of change in these
areas, as we release past expectations and open to the shift in values
that will ultimately allow for more stability financially and
relationally.

As the Triad moves on to confront the Sun on Thursday, we may find our
comfort levels challenged. We are moving beyond the limitations that
occur when we place our trust in the physical world. With each shift
that occurs, we are compelled to strengthen our connection inward, so
that we have better access to the kind of security that we can carry
everywhere we go, that is not dependent on the amount of change in our
pockets nor on the support that may or may not be supplied externally.

As we head into the weekend, Mercury again gains the spotlight as he
receives aspects from both Pluto and Saturn. Under this influence, we
may reach a boiling point if we are pushed too far, or if someone is
overly insistent that we follow their lead. Still, there is
opportunity for creative solutions to be found, if we can raise our
heads above the level of criticism and judgment.

At the same time, Mars steps into the fray, challenging us to overcome
our fear that if we truly express our needs and desires, we will be
ostracized or ignored. There are opportunities for healing in events
that arise on Sunday, if we will both trust our wise inner authority
and love the inner child who so needs our support.

Remember to check out my NorthPoint Astrology blog during the week!
I'll continue to comment on shifts as they occur at

Many blessings to you,

Pam
