AMAZING VIDEO

An amazing video is at the astronomy picture of the day page. It shows a coronal mass ejection, followed by something they call coronal rain from a medium sized flare. The amazing part is that this flare lasted for 10 hours in real time, but through the time lapse photog, it is only 6 minutes long.

Well worth the watch. A fantastic example of the power and scale of the sun compared to earth. They also show an earth sized globe right beside the coronal rain fall while the video is running, the rain storm is many times bigger than the earth.
