Good idea if your PC is in another room, but my PC is in my living room and I can see Youtube etc without moving a muscle from where I am. I also got rid of my TV ages ago.

i kept the TV and got rid of the satellite. Need to have a distraction every once and a while

There are a few things to see on TV such as the Link network which is viewer supported, they also have al-Jazerra news there and Amy Goodman as well, and Amy's news program is a good one, she covers all the Occupy events.
Also one channel called the free speech channel, that is viewer supported as well, so they go after the corporations alot of the time.
