Just prior to the Japanese Earthquake this past May, a calm of this type was seen in the data stream. A major geomagnetic event occured, and in the middle of that event, the quake erupted.
My suggestion? Head for higher ground. Take an unexpected vacation until Monday. "G'ma died. We're going to Kansas. See ya'll in a week."

Geesh! hope you're wrong for everyone's sake I don't think swimming lessons would do much good if this kicks off.
