What is Fearmongering?

There has been discussion on here lately about posting negative information.

Well I do agree with the fact that negative disinfo is not a good thing. Rumours and articles that have no credibility are nothing more than spam. However reporting the facts is very important imho.

If your neighbours' house catches fire, wouldn't you go and help, observe the chaos and tell others what happened? We wouldn't ignore it and pretend that it didn't happen.

If a nuclear plant is in danger of being shorted out with flood waters, and there could be a possible radiation leak and a cloud coming my direction, frig I want to know so I can bug out!

I want to know what is taking place in the world. Without others sharing I am no better than many with their heads in the sand.



Lack of knowledge is the goal of the MSM. Suppression of the truth and only telling us what "THEY" want us to know has been the goal of Televison and Radio since it was invented. Thanks to the internet, things have changed. However we have to put the filter on and deflect the crud that some people try and shove at us.


Bottom line to me is ..... posting the truth, even if it is negative is important. Even posting things like the world is going end on May 21 2011, from a point of view that is was silly, was important to see the foolishness of others.

Posting the likes of Bill Deagle and his the sky is falling ministry is pure spam.


Hell even the ones that we thought were fantastic at first, we have found out to be otherwise. Blossom Goodchild and Little Grandmother come to mind.

So what is the solution?

Well I think the thing to do is that for every negative article we post, we should find a positive one also.

Duality......Balance.

I agree mic. To not speak of the bad things is overlooking information. I too want the whole story.

Even negative posts are informative. What we have to understand is that a lot of things going on in the world ARE negative and I for one WANT to know about it ASAP!!! I WANT to be informed, I WANT to know what the governments are up to, so that I can do something about my own corner and not come into harm in some way.

If, like you say, burying your head in the sand hides all the negatives, but in burying your head, you are not in tune to whats going on around you. If you don't know whats going on, how on earth can you sidestep to get out of the way in time?

So, being negative can also be positive, in that information is gold. Being forewarned and forearmed is the best positive anyone can hope for. Information is knowledge and knowledge is power.

let me clear up something right off the bat..I do not think anyone here is trying to promote fear by their postings

I do believe it is posted in an informational way even if i don't need that info repeatedly

and I by no means have my head in the sand because I respectfully disagee with you

a few of my points are as follows..

you can find this info anywhere and everywhere and anyone wanting to read it knows where to look and does
by posting it here you are not telling folks here anything new
so even though I do not believe it is fearmogering in any way
I also don’t see the need to repeat so much of it here without posts that lift also

one of my bitches about it is: the repeated postings of this with no opinion or solution
and yes it is my bitch because I do not share your view on the need to be repeatedly shown how fucked over we are
it lowers my energy when I read it over and over again
..same we-are-being-fucked-and are-going-to-die story.. different day
my solution is to not read posts by certain folks..

my view is that time is short – very short - and instead of repeating what we already know but a different daily flavor
we should be working on the means to help whomever we can and ways to do what we came to do and ways in which
we can progress with our spiritual growth in a way that counters these doom things

my view is that discussion on the ways and means of personal growth is a better use of our time that is left

I don’t feel that stunting my growth by feeding on what’s wrong today is progress and that is my stand

I do fully appreciate that you obviously feel differently than me by seeing said postings continually here
...and I was tired of not seeing any balancing posts for growth and that is/was my point.

I was stating that my view is different that’s all..which I do believe is what a forum is about
sharing different views..not fighting about which is the right view

I am not happy with how the forum is changing to match all the others..I don’t read the others because I don’t want to be invested
in that type of energy

I was not telling you what to post or not post..only that I wasn’t happy with the continued gathering of such things without any
balancing thoughts on how to change anything...

I absolutely refuse to toss posts back and forth with pointing fingers on right and wrong..because there is no right or wrong
just how we see things

My purpose of posting thread is to try and clear the air. By no means do I think anyone here and especially you Sky Otter have their heads in the sand. My reference was to people like I met at a NASCAR race last weekend. In conversation with many I met, I would ask little questions like did they know that there was a Nuclear plant in Nebraska that was in danger. Nope was the usual answer.

I asked a group if they had heard of Ron Paul. Nope never heard of him.

Another group was convinced that Bin Laden was just recently killed. When I mentioned the facts about the possility that he has been dead for a while, the response was "why would they keep that quiet"? My response was "Ever heard of homeland security and the Patriot Act"?

I just want to be the one informed not the one that is more interested in whether a Toyota or Chevy wins the race!!!


I guess I, for one, forget that we are all information seekers and have read the daily news and reposting here is redundant. My purpose of doing so is two fold. One is assumption that no one else had read it yet, and secondly to stir a discussion about the topic.

I would hate for this forum to turn into anything like the big forums where on every thread it turns into a pissing match and someone calling BS to another. That is such a turn off. We have a great group here, and I don't want others to be annoyed by certain posts.


D, you have an excellent point in the fact that simply posting an article without commenting on it is counterproductive. If one reads something and finds a flaw or considers it a hoax that is a good thing.

Mic..that's what i mean..you talk to your friends or just folks and they don't get it and they don't care..

hey, don't let it get you down.. i think the time for trying to educate others is past
don't let their lack of interest frustrate you so
and if they have their heads buried they sure as hell aren't on here reading

we need to keep ourselves at a higher level so the balance of power doesn't slip to the baddies
i really feel that talking to each other and working on being calm and joyous is part of the way to go
and that's what annoys me most about the posting of one awful thing after another
we aren't talking about how to make it better..we aren't trying to figure a way to work at it

The millions, most likely billions of souls that wouldn't know anything about anything unless it is mundane is a given.

The souls on here are i believe gifted from the start, they are knowledgable, they search, they seek answers and probably have most likely always been like that, that's what sets them apart from most others.

That is why I said in another post that I could say anything about anything here and I know you all would get it, you just would, there would be no closed minds, it is a wonderful thing to behold.

I dont get to do the surfing that I used to do before mainly due to the plan I have to have now, so I rely on this forum to give me the current news, whether it be good or bad, I do like to know. At the same time we are all on the same page here, we all have higher wisdom in a way that other people just dont want to know about.
