Well this looks as good as Apollo 11 to me LOL

I finally got around to rigging up a mini rocket stove on the weekend to prove the concept.

Vegetarians look away as you may be offended by high quality meat being seared .

This is the outcome of approximately a third of that tiny wood pile converted into heat blazing onto a solid cast iron pan.

Conclusion:

Rocket Stoves work damn well, will make any cooked meal you want with minimal fuel. Back to normal programming in the next cook up and make 8 treasure vegetarian soup ;)

Next step is a Rocket Mass Heater when the location presents itself :D

Cheers Skywatcher!

Its lucky that invite was lost (or most likely eaten by a snail along the way to ol blighty) as those bits of kindling sized pieces of wood produced way too much heat if you get my drift!

I think the key to obtain a nice simmer with the little Rocket Stove I made on the weekend (out of Milo Tins and Soup Cans obtained from the recycling bin at work) is to burn a full load of wood to start off with to heat up the Vermiculite insulated combustion chamber then cut back to two to three sticks of wood for a nice simmer.

My partner in experimenting and I were quite blown away by how well it worked.
