i meet and befriended a wonderful young fellow American last summer, who moved to Japan last fall to be with his Japanese wife and her family; i know he feels he's in the right place now, but this video story demonstrates the perplexities of this ever unfolding human drama. i found it compelling while contemplating my own possible feelings and reactions?

great vid, BUT ... his recommendations will do no good if we are depending on gov't officials to "help" us ... make sure contamination does not reach us? this gentleman has good intentions, but he must spend too much time with his books and experiments - cuz he doesn't seem to understand that our "officials" are complicit in this tragedy - and the ptw do not care about us little people - need to get our agencies to supply timely info? don't count on it - seems kinda too late to me - but what do i know?

"The residents of Japan have good cause to mistrust the media, TEPCO officials, and members of their government when it comes to assurances about radiation levels, plutonium dispersal, and the related health risks. Americans also have good cause to mistrust these same sort of assurances issued to American residents." --Lucas W. Hixson, April 23, 2011
Over the past few weeks, Japan, the US, and EU all have issued public statements that confirm the total disregard for safety, protection, and well being of their citizens. In their Orwellian rhetoric, this means harm is the order of the day. The most immediate radiation threats from Fukushima's on-going nuclear nightmare are to all citizens throughout Japan. From the beginning, on March 11, there was no serious evacuation plan. The original 10-mile Fukushima evacuation was worthless. On April 26, the 25th anniversary of Chernobyl's nuclear catastrophe, Physicians for Social Responsibility [PSR], "underscored the ongoing health risks of nuclear energy to the public. [a] clear reminder that standard evacuation zones cannot protect the public from a nuclear accident."(1)
PSR also has released "a new interactive Evacuation Zone Map" to give us a clear picture of continuing nuclear dangers. CK THIS SITE!! In the US, more than one-third of the population (111 million) lives within 50 miles of a nuclear reactor [many are old and have serious problems, such as Vermont Yankee; 13 are the same kind as at Fukushima]. "Given the consequences of the Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters; PSR is calling for a major reassessment of contingency plans for nuclear accidents, as well as a full and fair accounting of the data on the impact on public health and the environment."(2) This reassessment is extremely important. Realistically, however, how many years will it take to implement long-overdue REAL emergency plans, when almost nothing was done between Chernobyl's nuclear catastrophe and Fukushima? We don't have years any more.
There is no Precautionary Principle in this wrecked scenario. How many more people will develop radiation-induced cancer or die, while they're still working on implementing something? What devastating radioactive harm will come to our children and grandchildren, while officials "debate" what should be done? What kind of continuous delaying propaganda tactics will the nuclear industry pull?
Reactor Workers
As of now, there has been one cover-up after another, putting everyone in danger. So, the reactor's workers were the first to die. Actual numbers of dead clean-up(sic) workers haven't been reported yet. Recruiting ads (not done by TEPCO, but by a maintenance company) for temporary workers do not warn potential employees of any possible nuclear dangers on the job. By sub-contracting this hazardous labor, costs are brought down, and profits soar. Further, "TEPCO and other power companies have always refused to disclose the list of subcontractors."(3) Without any public disclosure or accountability, no one knows who is doing what. There are about 700 workers at Fukushima's radioactive site. At a daily rate of about US$122, this is hardly worth getting cancer and dying. "TEPCO and NISA [Nuclear and Industrial Safety Industry] keep diffusing their usual propaganda to minimized the radiation risks."(4)
These temporary contract day workers, "doing the most dirty and dangerous jobs in the nuclear plants[and] who fall ill, will not even appear in the statistics. What is clear is that the contract laborers are routinely exposed to the highest level of radiation."(5) In addition, this crisis is also exacerbated by two other issues: Firstly, there is a complicated procedure for any temporary workers "who need to apply for occupational hazard compensation."(6) Secondly, doses for radiation exposure have changed and for the worse. On March 14, the Japanese industry of Health and Labor raised "the maximum [radiation] dose for workers to 250 mSv [milli Sieverts] a year" an increase in exposure from the previous 100 mSv.(7) These new figures are also drastically higher than those from the International Commission on Radiological Protection's guidelines stipulating a maximum of 20 mSv a year."(8) In either case, it is obvious that deliberately manipulating exposure levels, to a mostly uninformed public, only increases our perils. www.activistpost.com/2011/04/eu-follows-epa-raises-acceptable.html
Noted nuclear radiation physician Dr. Helen Caldicott has repeatedly said there is NO SAFE LEVEL OF EXPOSURE. Last week, in an online article, she wrote:
"The grave effects of internal emitters are of the most profound concern at Fukushima -as indeed they continue to be at Chernobyl. It is erroneous and misleading to use the term 'acceptable levels of external radiation' in assessing internal radiation doses. To do so is to propagate inaccuracies and to mislead the public worldwide and journalists who are seeking the truth about radiation's hazards."(9)
What is at risk, to the nuclear industry, is not our lives. The risk issues for them are their profits and the future of nuclear energy. We live at a time devoid of ethics; so the corporations involved will do anything to keep it going, even sacrifice our lives for their greed.
Prof. Jobin, also noted that this expansion of allowable radiation dosages may "perhapslimit the number of possible applications for recognition of occupation disease."(10) Corporate accountability is not part of this broken and criminal system. This is a decades-long theme-and-variations: Anything they can get away with they do. Governments comply. A rare exception is University of Tokyo professor Toshiso Kosako. He was hired in March as nuclear safety advisor to the Japanese government. He resigned last Friday April 29, saying: "the prime minister's office and agencies within the government 'have ignored the laws.'"(11)
Conditions at Fukushima, according to Prof. Jobin, are atrocious. A TEPCO employee described "the extremely difficult conditions for intervention [and safety] and the patched together systems they are compelled to use to protect themselves, like wrapping themselves in plastic bags [a worthless attempt], for lack of appropriate protective suits."(12) This is exactly the same corporate modus operandi that BP used in hiring temporary workers throughout the oil-rig catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico. Workers there had little-to-no protective gear while they cleaned up deadly dispersants; and reporters were either kept away from clean-up sites or threatened if they reported what was actually happening. While BP was barely protecting temporary workers it hired [many of whom are now critically ill or have died], it continues to make repulsive, yet record corporate profits. One year after the Gulf disaster, "BP posted a first-quarter [2011] profit of $7.1 billion, an increase of 17 percent."(13)
Evacuation & Radiation Exposure
Real evacuation for millions of Japanese has never happened. Japanese children, elders, and pregnant women are the most vulnerable. How many women have already had miscarriages or given birth to stillborns, or those with serious deformities? How many women who are still in their first or second trimester of pregnancy will still have to face this kind of life-changing tragedy? There are no mainstream media reports of critical nuclear reproductive dangers. For decades, the media has been silent. The only reports of extreme and tragic birth deformities usually stay in obscure medical journals. The public's right to know about these environmental hazards that affect all our lives never figures into any governmental policy equation.
This also goes for all of us in North America, as the onslaught of invisible ionizing radiation is hitting us 24/7 and we, too, are in danger. Conveniently, EPA's monitoring systems were not working, or REAL daily radiation levels were not reported. There is always some excuse. The exceptions are the following radiation websites. As we have long-term radiation exposure, they are worth posting again:
These sites continue to be very valuable so we know our daily radiation risks. This is a cumulative, but invisible, radiation hazard that goes into our bodies. There also have been numerous reports in alternative news of high rates of Cesium-137 (found in milk, from cattle grazing on radioactive land), Iodine-131 (goes into the thyroid); and Strontium-90 (goes into our bones and teeth). "It is a very complex microscopic assault on living tissue."(14)
Dr. Caldicott continues to remind us all that we cannot "confuse the effects of external and internal [nuclear] radiation."(15) External radiation is what happened when the US dropped bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Internal radiation is what is happening now where radioactive elements continue to enter our bodies: through the air we breathe; and eating from an already highly contaminated food chain; and what is absorbed though our skin [the largest organ in our bodies]. We are now exposed to all of these different avenues of radioactive contamination. We are at the top, as it bio-accumulates up the food chain. As it enters
"the body, these elements - called internal emitters - migrate to specific organs such as the thyroid, liver, bone, and brain, continuously irradiating small volumes of cells with high doses of alpha, beta and/or gamma radiation, and over many years often induce cancer. Further, many remain radioactive in the environment for long periods, posing danger for future generations. The grave effects of internal emitters are of the most profound concern at Fukushima -as indeed they continue to be at Chernobyl. It is erroneous and misleading to use the term 'acceptable levels of external radiation'' in assessing internal radiation doses. To do so is to propagate inaccuracies and to mislead the public worldwide and journalists who are seeking the truth about radiation's hazards." (16)
In addition, there has been little reporting on the repercussions of the deadly nature of the MOX [mixed oxide] plutonium releases from the spent fuel rods stored on this site for 40 years. "According to the Nuclear Information Resource Center (NIRS), this plutonium-uranium fuel mixture is far more dangerous than typical enriched uranium [as] a single milligram (mg) of MOX is as deadly as 2,000,000 mg of normal enriched uranium."(17)
Plutonium-239 has a radioactive half-life of 24,000 years, while Uranium-235's half-life is 700-million years. Multiply that by the 600,000 spent fuel rods at Fukushima's Unit 3 Reactor (no longer under 45-feet of water to keep them cool). Once there wasn't any more cooling water, fusion took place and the destruction of "unit 3 Reactor was the cause of the massive hydrogen explosion."(18)
As Lucas Hixson reported after looking at the hi-resolution photos of Unit 3: "The top of the primary containment vessel, as well as the top of the reactor itself, is simply GONE. Even to a layperson, it is obvious that this means that the huge hydrogen explosion at unit 3 must have occurred in the reactor itself, and that the entire top of the reactor containment vessel was obliterated, ejecting the contents of the core -as well as the spent fuel pool- into the atmosphere. This means, obviously, that significant quantities of plutonium were released, and that the release of radiation from unit 3 alone must be many times higher than has been admitted for the entire complex --Chernobyl pales in comparison. It is apparent that Tepco, the NRC, and the Japanese and American government officials, among others, are participating in a cover-up of the extent and severity of this disaster. This almost certainly applies to the blandly misleading assurances about the harmlessness of the fallout on US soil. The whistle must be blown, loud and clear."(19)
What has been the typical agency response? On April 21, the FDA refused to test Alaska fish for radiation. Both the ocean and air currents coming from Japan are both highly radioactive as they continue to travel around the globe wrecking invisible havoc. No one is safe, while the collusion continues between malfeasant corporate decisions and those officials in charge. None of this is any accident. This is planned incompetence for massive criminal cover-ups.
Despite finding high doses of radiation in our water, soil, milk, and fruits, radiation dose exposure levels have also been increased for both the Japanese and US populations. On May 2, "furious parents in Fukushimadelivered a bag of radioactive playground earth to educational officials in protests" to government changes in radiation exposure.(20)
According to these official changes, "children can now be exposed to 20 times more radiation than was previously permissible."(21) The accompanying photo to this article shows a young schoolgirl wearing a face mask. These paper masks are useless against radiation exposure. Despite high-radiation levels, schools will remain open. "It is estimated than 75 percent of Fukushima's schools may have radiation levels above the old safety level of 1 mSv."(22) Children, who are more vulnerable to cancer and numerous kinds of reproductive damage, will continue to be at more extreme risk. Nonetheless, parents' concerns continue to be ignored.
America has already been contaminated with an assortment of Dante's Inferno of radioactive isotopes. Instead of warning us about exposure dangers, more deception has been handed to us. Both the EU and US have raised "acceptable" radiation levels for food. In the US, Congressional approval is not legally required. So, "the [EPA's] new standards would result in a 'nearly 1,000-fold increase for exposure to Strontium-90, a 3,000 to 100,000-fold hike for exposure to Iodine-131, and an almost 25,000 rise for exposure to radioactive Nickel-63' in drinking water."(23)
According to corrupt officials, it is okay for all of us to eat radioactive contaminated food, day in and day out. Since nothing is accurately tracked, when cancer rates begin to inevitably soar, no one will ever be held accountable. Can we connect the dots? This is all about long-term injury. We cannot trust any official to tell us the truth about chronic radiation exposure. Historically, we never could.
ON March 25, the EU ordinance [#297/22011] implemented these increased exposures to radiation. Instead of banning all food imported from Japan, risks are now double for anyone foolish enough to even consider buying radioactive food. For example, exposure to both Cesium-134 and Cesium-137 have now doubled, including baby foods and formula.
The fact that both the US and EU raised radiation levels is surely not co-incidental. Raising the maximum radiation exposure doses for humans and also for our entire food supply is another way that we are being deliberately duped. It isn't bad enough that the corporate-controlled media lies; it is also pervasive throughout agencies and governments. Manipulating figures or data and juggling toxic exposure levels are more indications that our lives count for nothing. The entire globe continues to be heavily contaminated by on-going radiation levels from Fukushima, from the 600,000 spent fuel rods, the meltdowns of the reactors and release of radioactive elements, and dumping of 11,500 tons of radioactive water into the Pacific Ocean. When are we going to wake up collectively and really see through their lies and deceit? When will we really understand the massive harm to which they continue to subject us? When are we going to hold them accountable?

Fukushima - No Way Out By TC Burnett 5-11-11
Those of you who have been following me at HawaiiNewsDaily or on my blog may not have been thrilled with my initial assessments back in March - and ongoing - that Fukushima isn't going away.
The reactors can NEVER be placed in 'cold shutdown' because the cores are partially melted together. We are talking about hundreds of tons of fissile material inside reinforced concrete containment vessels. The containment vessels are cracked. They are releasing radiation. Fission excursions are still occurring and no one can go inside those containments for hundreds of years - even if they could get to the fuel.
They continue to pour water on them and drain it off into the ocean because there is nothing else they can do. If they stop pumping water, the genie comes out. If they keep pumping water, it has to go somewhere and that somewhere is the ocean. It is still a stop gap. Those reactor cores cannot be put into 'cold shutdown' or dismantled or entombed. Ever.
They cannot treat as much radioactive water as they have to keep pumping in. No one can. So the radiation is going to come across the Pacific and impact the US and, certainly, Hawaii. Yes, I read that they are going to start treating it or storing it, but the task is impossible. Reactor cores have to be maintained in a 'clean room' environment or the water picks up particles - which then become radioactive - which then irradiate the reactor plumbing - and, eventually, become fuel. That's why they have to keep pumping fresh water in and dumping it out. They cannot recirculate it, even if they manage to get new plumbing installed. The next major earthquake there will begin an extinction event.
I am not going to say 'told you so'. I am going to suggest that people who have the opportunity should consider growing their own food for a variety of reasons. I like aquaponics.
Growing food in enclosed greenhouses protects from fallout and the organic uptake of radionuclides. For my system, I have developed an ion-exchange filter to remove radioactive isotopes from rainwater. I can still use catchment. The water inside the greenhouses; water we need to drink, will be clean.
Consider this. When the economy collapses, as it must, the money people have invested almost anywhere except under their mattresses will be gone. If, instead, you chose to develop an aquaponics farm, in two years you would probably have a continuous supply of non-radioactive food.
We are now at the crossroads. The economic collapse IS coming. The radiation IS coming. I am going to have a radiation-free food source. If you believe you have your money and food supply secured into the future and that we will not devolve into a greenhouse economy, you don't need to worry about it. If you guess wrong, you will have lost both your money and your chance.
It is true that I am a doomsayer and actively prepare for the worst situation I can imagine. If I don't, that's what will happen. If I do, and it doesn't happen, I will still have an active, organic aquaponics enterprise. It is win-win for me when I get it built on whatever scale I can do.
I am going to make fresh food and clean water no matter what anyone else does. It's merely the practical matter of how many people I can feed. In one greenhouse I can produce enough food for myself and the people who help me. With two, I can produce a surplus and feed other people. I envisioned three, but I may have to convert the third one to a water treatment/storage facility. I presently don't have enough land for more than three and I don't have access to more than three greenhouses in any case. I still have to buy them, prep the ground, do the plumbing, dismantle them. move them, re-erect them and build the two-tier infrastructure inside them. Then I have to make them produce. It is happening.
I have friends - maybe a lot of friends - who are investing in silver and gold. You can't eat it. Since no one can eat it, I won't trade you food for it. I'm just saying - the markets are going back up today after what looked like a downward spiral on 3 May. They are fluctuating and confused. That is not a foundation for stability.
One of these days you will look at the clock and it will say "too late".
The live camera link is here :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FptmoVcgpqg The sound is on. You can listen to the waves gently breaking on the shoreline. You can watch birds fly around the ruins - they don't understand what is happening to them. When earthquakes hit you can watch the camera shake. It all appears very peaceful and tranquil. It's a view of Hell.
*********** This is all becoming to dire and depressing. i do not want to foster or feed into this kind of fear any longer. This will be my last post on this subject matter... The earth will heal itself. i truly believe there is a way out from all of this and it involves going inside one's heart and creating a new way of living (vibrating) on this planet. This is the only way to survive what is upon us. Again, i will filter all this and then let all go...
Blessings to all here ~ Gio

TEPCO admits nuclear meltdown occurred at Fukushima reactor 16 hours after quake
Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) admitted for the first time on May 15 that most of the fuel in one of its nuclear reactors at the Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant had melted only about 16 hours after the March 11 earthquake struck a wide swath of northeastern Japan and triggered a devastating tsunami.
According to TEPCO, the operator of the crippled nuclear power plant, the emergency condenser designed to cool the steam inside the pressure vessel of the No. 1 reactor was working properly shortly after the magnitude-9.0 earthquake, but it lost its functions around 3:30 p.m. on March 11 when tsunami waves hit the reactor.
Based on provisional analysis of data on the reactor, the utility concluded that the water level in the pressure vessel began to drop rapidly immediately after the tsunami, and the top of the fuel began to be exposed above the water around 6 p.m. Around 7:30 p.m., the fuel was fully exposed above the water surface and overheated for more than 10 hours. At about 9 p.m., the temperature in the reactor core rose to 2,800 degrees Celsius, the melting point for fuel. At approximately 7:50 p.m., the upper part of the fuel started melting, and at around 6:50 a.m. on March 12, a meltdown occurred.
On the reason why it took over two months after the earthquake to reveal the information, TEPCO said it had only been able to start obtaining detailed data on the temperature and pressure in the reactor for analysis in early May.
Junichiro Matsumoto, a senior TEPCO official, said, "Because there is similar damage to the fuel rods at the No. 2 and 3 reactors, the bottoms of their pressure vessels could also have been damaged." He said the utility would carry out similar analysis on the two reactors.
Hiroaki Koide, professor of nuclear safety engineering at Kyoto University, was critical of TEPCO.
"They could have assumed that when the loss of power made it impossible to cool down the reactor, it would soon lead to a meltdown of the core. TEPCO's persistent explanation that the damage to the fuel had been limited turned out to be wrong," he said.

This advisory coming from - France's Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN)

70 000 must evacuate around Fukushima 2011-05-24 16:54
Paris - Seventy thousand people living beyond the 20km no-go zone around Fukushima should be evacuated because of radioactivity deposited by the crippled nuclear plant, a watchdog said.
Updating its assessment of the March 11 disaster, France's Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) highlighted an area northwest of the plant that lies beyond the 20km zone whose inhabitants have already been evacuated.
Radioactivity levels in this area range from several hundred becquerels per square metre to thousands or even several million bequerels per square metre, the IRSN report, issued late on Monday, said.
Around 70 000 people, including 9 500 children aged up to 14, live in the area, "the most contaminated territory outside the evacuation zone", the agency said.
"These are people who are still to be evacuated, in addition to those who were evacuated during the emergency phase in March," Didier Champion, its environment director, told AFP.
Staying in this area means the inhabitants would be exposed to radiation of more than 10 millisieverts (mSv)in the year following the disaster, according to the IRSN.
Taking precautions
This level is used in French safety guidelines for protecting civilian populations after a nuclear accident. In France, 10 mSv is three times the normal background radiation from natural sources.
"Ten mSV is not a dangerous dose in and of itself, it's more a precautionary dose," said Champion, noting however that this figure that does not include any additional doses from contaminated food or water.
The 10 mSV derives from a calculation of exposure to at least 600 000 becquerels per square metre, emitted by caesium 137 and 134, which are long-lasting radioactive elements.
Of the 70 000 people in the zone identified in the IRSN report, more than 26 000 could be exposed to doses of more than 16mSv in the first year after the disaster.
On May 15, Japan began to evacuate 4 000 residents of the village of Iidate-mura and 1 100 people in the town of Kawamata-cho, 30km from the plant. The two locations had consistently received high amounts of radioactive dust due to wind patterns.
The IRSN report is based on data for radioactivity reported by the Japanese authorities and from US over-flights of the zone.

"The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) held a special ACRS meeting Thursday May 26, 2011 on the current status of Fukushima. Arnie Gundersen was invited to speak for 5 minutes concerning the lessons learned from the Fukushima accident as it pertains to the 23 Mark 1 Boiling Water Reactors (BWR's) in the US and containment integrity. Mr. Gundersen was the first engineer to brief the NRC on the implication of Main Steam Isolation Valve (MSIV) Leakage in 1974, and he has been studying containment integrity since 1972. The NRC has constantly maintained in all of its calculations and reviews that there is zero probability of a containment leaking. For more than six years, in testimony and in correspondence with the NRC, Mr. Gundersen has disputed the NRC's stand that containment systems simply do not and cannot leak. The events at Fukushima have proven that Gundersen was correct. The explosions at Fukushima show that Mark 1 containments will lose their integrity and release huge amounts of radiation, as Mr. Gundersen has been telling the NRC for many years."

Land around Fukushima now radioactive dead zone; resembles target struck by atomic bomb
Tuesday, May 31, 2011 by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger Editor of NaturalNews.
(NaturalNews) It is nothing short of astonishing that the nuclear catastrophe we've all been told was "no big deal" has now escalated into the worst nuclear disaster in the history of human civilization. It's so bad now that soil samples taken from outside the 12-mile exclusion zone (the zone considered safe enough by the Japanese government for schoolchildren to attend school there) are higher than the 1.48 million becquerels a square meter limit that triggered evacuations outside Chernobyl in 1986.
In other words, the radiation level of the soil 12 miles from Fukushima is now higher than the levels considered too dangerous to live in near Chernobyl. This is all coming out in a new research report authored by Tomio Kawata, a fellow at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization of Japan. That same report also reveals that radiation from Fukushima has spread over 230 square miles.
What we're facing here, folks, is a Fukushima dead zone where life will never return to its pre-Fukushima norms.
Radiation levels similar to nuclear bomb test site Bloomberg is now reporting, "Tetsuya Terasawa said the radiation levels are in line with those found after a nuclear bomb test, which disperses plutonium. He declined to comment further." (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...)
One soil sample taking 25 kilometers away from Fukushima showed Cesium-137 exceeding 5 million becquerels per square meter. This level, of course, makes it uninhabitable by humans, yet both the Japanese and U.S. governments continue to downplay the whole event, assuring their sheeple that there's nothing to worry about. By their logic, since all the people are sheeple anyway, as long as the area is safe enough for sheep, it's also safe enough for the human population.
Both Japan and the U.S. have made huge efforts to raise the limits of allowed radiation exposure in foods and beverages. This was, of course, a deceitful tactic to try to reclassify radiation contamination as somehow magically being "safe" by redefining it.
The outright lying and tactics of deception that have been used to try to downplay the severity of the radioactive fallout from Fukushima are nothing less than despicable. In a time when radiation threatens the safety and food supply of hundreds of millions of people, we are getting nothing but a Fukushima whitewash.
Fukushima is now far worse than Chernobyl ever was and yet we're all being told it's no problem and that the government has it all under control. I ask: How is 5 million becquerels per square meter not a problem? It's amazing that we even got this information, considering how frequently TEPCO claims its sensors and meters aren't working (basically any time they get a reading that's "too high").
The Japanese government can't wait to corral the sheeple back onto the radioactive soil, by the way. "Basically, the way in which the current zones have been drawn up aren't a concern in terms of the impact on health," said Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano. "Using Mr. Kawata's report as a guide, we want to do what we can to improve the soil, so people can return as soon as possible." (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...)
Barely two weeks ago, TEPCO finally admitted Fukushima suffered multiple core meltdowns in the hours following the tsunami strike (http://www.naturalnews.com/032378_n...) (http://www.naturalnews.com/032437_F...). This was the first time TEPCO openly admitted to something the alternative media had been reporting for months.
What has become perfectly clear in the reporting on Fukushima is that:
• Governments lie to the people • Mainstream media lies to the people • Only the alternative media was correct in reporting the severity of the core meltdowns and the release of radioactive material into the environment.
That's why more and more people are turning away from traditional sources of (mis)information and instead relying on the alternative media to get accurate information about world events.

a disclaimer:
"Even though i post these continuing (dire) stories...i feel it is a necessary process (for some) to filter these man created abnormalities from our collective minds...
i believe and sense (for those that chose) - that we are becoming fully ripened (within our conscious minds) - to now truly create a new timeline for our ever evolving (transmuting) physical bodies. These visiting cosmic brethren ~ ET's (are only here now) to observe and assist in these processes. As the Earth continues to transmutes upward in her vibration within this huge centrifuge of our (solar systems) current galactic alignment, it is up to those who wish and desire to ascend with her to reciprocate and follow suit by changing their thought behavioral patterns. We are (and will experience) what we think!"

Fukushima Water Has More Radiation Than Released Into Air
Thursday, June 2, 2011 (updated June 3)
from- Bloomberg
June 3 (Bloomberg) -- The water level in basements and trenches at Tokyo Electric Power Co.'s Fukushima plant rose and may contain more radiation than is known to have been released into the atmosphere in the worst nuclear crisis since Chernobyl.
The amount of contaminated water rose to about 105 million liters (28 million gallons) from 100 million liters on May 18, and may start overflowing after June 20, the company known as Tepco said in a statement today. Radiation in the water is estimated at 720,000 terabecquerels, general manager Junichi Matsumoto said at a media briefing in Tokyo.
Tepco has pumped millions of liters of water to cool three reactors that melted down at the Fukushima Dai-Ichi station after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami knocked out power and backup generators, crippling its cooling systems. With Japan's rainy season in full swing, heavy downpours threaten to flood the plant and leak more radiation into the sea, soil and air.
"The risk of overflow is as serious as the meltdown of reactor fuel rods that's already happened," Tetsuo Ito, the head of the Atomic Energy Research Institute at Kinki University in western Japan, said in a phone interview. "Tepco should've acknowledged this risk weeks ago and could've taken any urgent measures."
A water de-contamination unit being built at the plant will start operating after June 15 and an underground tank capable of holding 10 million liters will be ready by the middle of August, Tepco said in today's statement.
Radiation in Atmosphere
Tepco shares fell 6.2 percent today to 286 yen, the lowest level since at least September 1974. The stock has fallen 87 percent since the day before the quake, erasing 3 trillion yen ($37 billion) of the company's market value.
Much of the water poured into reactors and spent-fuel pools has overflowed or leaked into basements, connecting tunnels and services trenches at the plant, which has six reactors housed in separate building.
Japan's Nuclear Safety Commission said on April 12 an estimated 630,000 terabecquerels of radiation had been released into the atmosphere. The country's government the same day raised the severity rating of the nuclear crisis to the highest level on an international scale.
The government aims to release the latest radiation data early next week, Goshi Hosono, a special adviser to Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan, said on June 1.
Failure of cooling systems for reactors and water pools storing spent fuel rods led to explosions and fires at the Fukushima plant, causing radiation leaks that forced the evacuation of more than 50,000 households and contaminated drinking water and food.
Japan's government halted shipments of tea from four prefectures near Tokyo after detecting radioactive cesium that exceeded regulatory limits, the Yomiuri newspaper reported today.
