Your Story
What's your story? What's the story you tell about yourself and your
life?
John Cali
How closely do you pay attention to your story? What do you say about
yourself and your life -- to others, but most importantly, to
yourself?
The past few years I've made a concentrated effort to watch my words
-- and also to listen closely to the words of others.
For example, at the post office I overheard a conversation between two
men who obviously knew each other. The first guy asked the other how
he was doing. The second replied, "Well, if I wasn't falling apart,
I'd be doing fine."
Then I recall a friendly chat I had with an energetic young fellow
half my age. He was excited about his upcoming marriage, sharing with
me the plans and dreams he and his bride-to-be had. He described the
house they were building, a home they planned to live in the rest of
their lives. He said it would be a single-story house because, "When
we get older, we won't be able to go up and down the stairs."
How often have you heard someone say "That's just my luck!" - meaning,
almost always, "bad" luck?
I have good friend who's been playing a little game with herself this
past year or so. She goes to the grocery store a few times a month and
usually has a detailed list, even if it's just a few items. She looks
at the list before she enters the store and tells herself at least
some of the items will be on sale at a discounted price. Guess what?
More often than not, they are on sale.
That last example may seem trivial compared to the others. But they
all illustrate the ways we tell stories to and about ourselves.
Are our words, the stories we tell about ourselves, self-fulfilling
prophecies?
Here's Chief Joseph.
Chief Joseph
To answer John's question, yes, your stories about yourselves are self-
fulfilling prophecies. Keep telling the same stories and they become
your reality.
Pay attention to your words about yourselves and your lives. If you're
constantly going around bemoaning, to yourselves and to others, how
bad things are in your lives, then what do you think is going to
happen?
Things certainly are not going to get any better. If they're bad today
it's only because of the stories you told about yourself yesterday, or
yesteryear. It becomes an endless downward spiral unless you start
paying attention.
It's all a matter of focus. What you are predominantly focusing on,
through your thoughts -- words -- actions, is going to create your
reality.
Start telling good stories about yourselves. Even if your lives are
not so good right now, just ignore the "bad" stuff and start thinking
and saying how you want things to be. Take your focus off what is and
put it on what will be, what you want.
It really is that simple. The universe, your souls, God want only the
best for you. They see you healthy, happy, abundant, joyful, loving
your lives, and living the lives of your dreams.
Tell yourselves those stories that reflect how your souls see you.
Start saying words like these:
#
Everything always works out for me.
#
I love my life.
#
I love the people in my life and they love me.
#
I love my body.
#
My body is whole, healthy, and beautiful. If it isn't, I know it's
only temporary.
#
My body will last as long as I choose to live.
#
It will be in good health until the day I die.
#
I have an abundance of money.
#
If the flow slows to a trickle, I know there's much more coming to me.
#
I am "lucky" in so many ways.
#
Whatever I need to know is revealed to me.
#
Whatever I need always comes to me.
#
All is well.
Let those be the stories you tell about yourselves. These good stories
are also self-fulfilling prophecies.

Since 1992, John Cali has been communicating with a non-physical
entity called Joseph. In one of his many physical lifetimes, this
spirit was incarnated as the legendary Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce
tribe in what is now the state of Oregon in the northwestern USA.
These messages are a blend of information from Joseph, other spirits
in the "Joseph group," and John.
