ah Soma
very interesting study
i would have to add reiki to the list also ..
not as an active movement but as a change maker of energy
the difference being, as i think i have learnt it, is that a reiki practioner acts as a conduit
for the universal energy to pass thur to the other person
so the question i come up with is what does a qi gong practioner do with the energy?
John Chang used it for healing first and foremost...
and he believed he built up the charge thur meditation and it was his energy
reiki people believe that meditation quiets you so that you can transfer energy
but it is from the universe and not the reiki person's energy
but the end result is that the energy is used to balance another's
i think this is one of the things we need to remember..what we are all capable of
we can all do this
the methods of training are for recall of knowledge long forgotten but not unretrievable
the difference is in the methods used to get to an understanding of it
yet another energy system i have checked out is called
Touch For Healthi took these classes also during my search for answers
it uses a muscle test of kenetic energy for all parts of the body and then a knowledge of the meridans
and then to balance the body you run the meridan a number of times with your hand above the body
now the thing i really liked about this was that it recognized that balance was key and that you could
weaken or strengthen the body by the direction of running the meridan
very similar to taking away the strength of your opponet in ju jitsui (sp)
the meridans are either yin or yang and that tells you their direction
to run with the direction of the meridan strengthens it or run opposite weakens it
the key being balance of all the meridans
lots to look at with this subject
