| hahahahahah..ah soma..no master gardener here..sorry..just an old one... the asparagus in that patch is male mostly jersey knight and about 5 years old the older patch that isn't in the pic is about 18 years old and mostly martha washington..which is all that was avaliable then they say that a patch will be good for about 20/25 years...i personally don't know yet..but the older stuff has a better flavor the male varieties came out a while back and the sales point was that they didn't waste energy on making seeds.. the funny part is it throws more seeds than the old stuff.. | |

| The dogs always make a dashing appearance. So how long does it take to mow the lawns again? | |

| takes me 3 1/2 hours on a 54 inch deck 20 Hp husquarna..and hubby at least 4 on the big tractor to do the fields this year wasn't real bad..i stretched most of it to 10 or more days 'cause of the heat and no rain..... i'll probably do another couple of hours to mulch leaves..but i'm waiting for them to be all down we had a storm go thur and wind gusts of 30-50 mph..so all those leaves should be on the ground then pull maintainence and put them away for the winter... | |

| Oh I do love that sign sky, that's a good one. Plus you have the dogs to fend off any unwanted visitors, cool beans. | |

| ah soma..my apologies in not answering before... i didn't get the garlic planted that day..but almost three weeks later..sigh..sometimes it just works - how it works but i finally got in 160 gloves..so will have lots of garlic next year...6 types.. and the most wonderful news is that one of my s-i-l's saved and kept seperate the garlic that my f-i-l used to grow...he passed in '78 and i had his garlic for years and had given her some...and now it has returned to me so i am thrilled.. unfortunately one year all of our garlic got put together for storage and i lost track of which had been his.. it's a soft neck because he used to braid it....she also gave me some of the older straight neck that i had grown.. anyway it was really dry and so i waited til rain was forecast to plant..and being fall i planted much deeper than spring so nothing is really up yet here is a really really great site on garlic that i found recently...so many different types http://www.gourmetgarlicgardens.com/overview.htm | |

| Wow cool site ! Bookmarked...thats a keeper Great to hear that you got the garlic back! ^which reminds about a segment on the national gardening show here in Oz regarding seed saving and natural genetic mutation to suit the enviromental surrounds. Phew that is a kick ass Garlic Site! | |

| We harvested our garlic about two weeks ago - we got a years supply now. Yesterday the first batch finished drying and we had some on Pizza - very strong! I also gave some to a couple of people at work. | |

| Saw her this morning - she didn't see me - was in a daze :)
If you don't mind , I won't be carrying some garlic around most of the time just in case I see someone who I'd like to give some too - it has more drawbacks than advantages if you know what I mean - lol | |
