i have been blown away by the skies here for days ...
clouds, thunder, lightning, moonrise, bright objects
(i am sorry to say, i have never learned the sky map
and do not know what's what cept for the moon and
the big dipper and the milky way)
***
example: yesterday, when i pulled into B&J's house to
prepare their love dinner, my top was down and there
were some dark-bottomed thunderheads in the sky, but
it was mostly clear and sunny, and there were lotsa white fluffy clouds,
too, so i left it down when i went inside ... working in the kitchen, i
noticed the light go dim, looked out the window into one of those dark clouds
and went out to put top up, just in case ...
***
when i finished cooking and said my goodbyes to jack, i went to the car,
the skies were 50 - 50, so i put the top down and proceeded
home ... not two minutes later, as i turned onto the main road
heading north, a big ole drop hit my sunglasses and more started
falling, i was under just the edge of one of the dark clouds ... i was only
minutes away from my door and the choice ws to pull over and put my top up,
or not ...

NOT
***
i giggled as i rolled down the road and wondered what the people in oncoming
cars thought, and it made me happy to know i didn't care - my goal was to
make it through the door before that cloud drifted overhead and opened up ...
***
i was lucky - coincidentally, the long dirt road, "around the clubhouse turn",
the final stretch, had been graded that morning ... so i was able to drive a bit faster
and smoother without the washboard effect ...
***
i made it! i pulled into the driveway, parked in front of the steps, got out, put
the top up and hurried up the stairs ... just as i put the key in the lock, a huge
clap of thunder, and as i turned toward the sound, an awesome rainbow ...
and i appreciated and was grateful for that moment of magic, i slipped inside
the house, still laughing ...
***
later on, as the sun began to set, the moon rose full and bright over clouds
reflecting the light from the west ... another awesome display for my viewing enjoyment

this morning when i looked out, there was frost, for the first time - it wasn't
cold enough to freeze the water in the outside cat dish, but for the first frost, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
