Dubai was meant to be a Middle-Eastern Shangri-La, a glittering monument to Arab enterprise and western capitalism. But as hard times arrive in the city state that rose from the desert sands, an uglier story is emerging. What I can't figure out is why people have been flocking there in the last six years. These stories have been all over the net since about that time warning people not to go. Someone isn't doing their homework, they are blinded by greed and promise of wealth for picking up stakes and accepting promises of jobs there.
