| When youtube first came out you may have noticed after a video loaded. It would actually not need to be loaded again. You could play that video at any time once your computer had loaded it. Well it didn't take long before that practice was refined to a more costly process. Where you had to download the data every time you refreshed the page. Even if it was the same video. And now in Australia there is no such thing as an unlimited internet plan. Believe it or not you can only get up to at most last time I checked 4GB of data a month. Or you pay $30 for 1 GB. To put that in perspective that's a few movies for about 2 days and your done. That is extremely costly. If they charged this much for television it would cost you roughly $500 a day to watch 5-6 hours television.
Notice how yahoo and photobucket and these organizations seem to have unlimited data capability. They are capable of giving you a free email address and storing unlimited mail for you. And it's all free. Photobucket can host your images unlimited. And you can only imagine how many accounts and how many photos they are actually storing.
Never think that the internet is expensive or difficult. Because it's not. They just make money out of what you want most.

| Too right, Dean, The reason I never opened an account with Photobucket is the paranoid notion that, if I stored my images and emails on sites, it would be so convenient for 'The Man' to profile me. Now.., how's that for paranoia? I think it's outrageous the way the 'net is run in OZ. Us next methinks. | |

| Also what's even more laughable. Oh you want a website of your own? Ok you can name one. But it will cost you! We host it and.....bulshit you don't need to do that. The internet doesn't have to be like that. It should easily be possible to get free websites and free domains. That's how it started until the corporate world infiltrated into it.
The corporations now have divided the internet to where it's very difficult to find people of like mind and bring them together. Search engines like yahoo google run it all. This is a nightmare the internet is not what it should be. Always understand that. See we are like a island floating in cyberspace that no-one knows about us in this forum. By rights hundreds of people should be able to contact us easily through a more integrated connected system. but that's not what corporations want for us it would destroy them.
This forum is free because it's again a corporation using it's magical unlimited data ability on independents who don't own the internet so they may never start any profitable business on it and get any leverage on anything.

| I am the same way Tom. I never open up accounts for 'free' because it's just another way to track you. In fact, I never even take up the offer of free cell phone upgrades. I have lots of old ones that work just fine. And I would never put those ipods in my ears....another way for you to 'stay connected' or to get disconnected if you know what I mean. I asked for my last car not to have a navigation system.....
Call me old fashion or paranoid, but just don't want any of those new gadgets or the 'free' stuff.
