| oh, yeah, this should work:
From guardian.co.uk
Scientists' answer to global warming: nudge the planet farther from the Sun. Scientists have found an unusual way to prevent our planet overheating: move it to a cooler spot. All you have to do is hurtle a few comets at Earth, and its orbit will be altered. Our world will then be sent spinning into a safer, colder part of the solar system.
This startling idea of improving our interplanetary neighbourhood is the brainchild of a group of Nasa engineers and American astronomers who say their plan could add another six billion years to the useful lifetime of our planet - effectively doubling its working life. 'The technology is not at all far-fetched,' said Dr Greg Laughlin, of the Nasa Ames Research Center in California. 'It involves the same techniques that people now suggest could be used to deflect asteroids or comets heading towards Earth. We don't need raw power to move Earth, we just require delicacy of planning and manoeuvring.'

| First they wanted to blast the moon to see if there was water there (yeah I believe that one too), now they want to move the earth to protect it from global warming...okay I wonder if this has anything to do with the telescopes launched to view behind the sun and the dwarf star (second sun). It seems to me that they might want to move the earth out of range from CMEs or maybe that's just another wacky theory of what's really happening in our universe. Didn't their mothers teach them that you can't fool mother nature? | |

| Holy heck and from 2001 :O Full article here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2001/jun/10/globalwarming.climatechangeNow it may be/sound insane... but that article has some very "Interesting wording" going on: 'The technology is not at all far-fetched,' said Dr Greg Laughlin, of the Nasa Ames Research Center in California. 'It involves the same techniques that people now suggest could be used to deflect asteroids or comets heading towards Earth. We don't need raw power to move Earth, we just require delicacy of planning and manoeuvring.' Engineers would then direct their comet so that it passed close to Jupiter or Saturn, where the reverse process would occur. It would pick up energy from one of these giant planets. Later its orbit would bring it back to Earth, and the process would be repeated. What I got out of that article is that they admitted that they have Weapons up in space that can blow shit up | |

| What would happen to the life on earth if they decided to direct a comet to move the earth to a different position in our galaxy?
from what I learned about this time it wont matter where we are in our solar system because the influence caused these earth changes is coming from outside our solar system.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the solar flares expected around 2012 which could fry all our electrical systems and the hardware we put up there to orbit the earth?
if they want to bomb the moon in October just over a month away could this also mean they are directing this at something else besides looking for water? I would like to see the area they want to blow up...lol...a nice clear shot
any one else think these two bits of news might be related?

| I do, I watched a video last night on how much money they spent to retool the Hubble Space Telescope and they also added weapondry to it as well as all the new launches of solar telescopes also fitted with some kind of laser technology. It seems that NASA isn't the only organization interested in this. Other contries are following suit, so they have information on a probable threat that they haven't informed us about obviously. My guess is that this is where all the missing money is being filtered to. It's slightly reminescent of the Atlantean scientists misusing the technological advances they had and ended up destroying their own civilization. | |

| Hmm how do I put it..Space is a military zone run by the Navy for a long long time. - Quote :
- The Eisenhower administration determined, therefore, to pursue space goals in two distinct parts: military and civilian. The civilian part would be overt, "scientific," highly advertised and fully exploited for its world propaganda value [4]. The military part would be covert and highly secret. (The high degree of secrecy was as much to avoid bad publicity abroad as it was to keep the Soviets from knowing the details.) The mere existence of U.S. spying and other sensitive military applications from space would not be acknowledged openly by the U.S. government.
This "military" versus "civilian" (called "scientific") dichotomy was rigorously implemented by the U.S. Government and was to rule U.S. space programs for ensuing decades. During the early 1960s, for example, either a U.S. space program was 'scientific", or it did not overtly exist. (Later in that decade, existence of several military space systems did become public knowledge, among them TRANSIT and the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP), both highly successful, programs.) All from the US NAVY History Book ;) Which you can read here : - Code:
