Your guide to astrological energies for August 3 to 9, 2009

The Lunar Eclipse this week is a penumbral (partial) eclipse, an event
so subtle visually that even those in the path of the eclipse might
not notice anything out of the ordinary. But, with the two eclipses we
just experienced in July, there has already been a wave of energy
building -- and this last eclipse of our threesome will certainly add
its own vibration to the mix.

Eclipses shift signs every 18 months, and the two eclipses in July
were part of the new cycle of eclipses, the first ones utilizing the
Capricorn/Cancer polarity. The Lunar Eclipse this week is revisiting
for the last time the Aquarius/Leo polarity, giving us an opportunity
to review our progress over the past 18 months and to make some final
adjustments.

Where were you -- or perhaps more importantly, who were you -- in
February 2008, when we experienced the first Solar Eclipse in
Aquarius? Looking back, it may seem to be we're looking at someone
else's life or experience, since so much has changed since then.

Over the past year and a half, each of us has been working on becoming
more authentic, liberating ourselves from the need to fulfill the
expectations of others -- and at the same time, learning to accept
others without requiring that they meet our expectations. We have been
growing into the realization that it's time to reclaim our projections
and that we must relate to others as individuals apart from their
perceived or expected roles.

From this growth eventually comes a new objectivity and ability to see
the larger picture. We develop a greater ability both to "live and let
live" and also to learn to work together for a common ideal,
respecting the contribution of each.

This is what the Age of Aquarius is about, after all -- each person
living in the fulfillment of their own path, and through that
fulfillment, making a vital and unique contribution to the greater
community.

This Aquarian Lunar Eclipse also seems to be acting as a doorway to
accelerated growth, based on the effort we have been applying. The
Sabian symbol for 14 degrees of Aquarius, where the Moon is positioned
at the time of the eclipse, reads:
A train entering a tunnel: The ability to short-cut the process of
natural evolution by the exercise of will, mental skill and physical
self-discipline.
I paraphrase here the longer explanation of this symbol from Dane
Rudhyar's book An Astrological Mandala:
We must be inspired by a vision of what is possible for us to achieve;
we have to organize a schedule of necessary activities if the work is
to be done in terms of successive moves, each requiring a specialized
type of skill and strength; we have to find a propitious time for
beginning the work. The end result is an acceleration of the
evolutionary process.
Since so much emphasis is placed here on the fact that first a tunnel
must be built, we are clearly not magically transported to where we
want to go. But the message seems to be that, given the work we have
been doing, we are now in a position to bypass much of the territory
and obstacles that once stood in the way of our progress -- a catapult
forward that then seems almost magical in its accomplishment, but that
also acknowledges how hard we have been working on ourselves.

The chart for the eclipse shows Uranus and Pluto both forming aspects
to the Sun and the Moon. While these are "minor" aspects, being a part
of the eclipse energy brings them into stronger focus. They indicate
important changes underway, on both conscious (Sun) and unconscious
(Moon) levels.

The Uranus-Sun sesquisquare is exact on Monday, while the Pluto-Sun
sesquisquare is exact on Saturday, making bookends to the week and
extending the energies of change and transformation throughout the six-
day period.

In general, the Uranus-Sun aspect emphasizes nonconformity and the
desire to be free of the limitations and restrictions of the past -- a
clear reinforcement of the Aquarian themes of the eclipse itself. The
Pluto-Sun aspect adds to the desire for transformation, and may reveal
the unstable foundations beneath some existing structures -- or the
feet of clay beneath those we once admired.

Venus is in the spotlight on Friday and Saturday, interacting with the
Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter (Triad) energies and also forming aspects to
Saturn and Mercury. This interesting combination of aspects indicates
that our hearts will be opened to receive healing, to integrate a
higher vibration, and to fill any remaining emptiness with light, hope
and meaning.

At the same time, we will be challenged to incorporate these expansive
energies creatively into our everyday reality -- and especially to
translate our thoughts into words of compassion and nurturing. The
more consistently we can hold this high-heart space now, the more
easily we will be able to navigate the rest of August.

From where we sit now, it looks like we have some more shifts in the
weeks ahead, especially around August 15, when we'll be working with a
T-square involving Uranus in Pisces, Saturn/Mercury in Virgo, and Mars/
Moon in Gemini. At the same time, the Triad will be opposing the Sun,
trine Mars/Moon and quincunx Saturn/Mercury.

I realize that's a lot of astrologese to swallow! I promise to break
it down into smaller bites in next week's Journal.

5 is the number of change i have always been told..wow to the triples

Well I have noticed a change. People seem to cut to chase all of a sudden. Something on your mind .... just say it. On P/A they are raking all of the whistleblowers over the coals looking for untruths and not settling for any BS anymore. Someone doesn't like the comments of someone else...no sidestepping.

I'm all for it. Let's lay as much truth out there as we can, cause I hate following a false rabbit down its hole.

I've been lurking occassionally there and can't believe the explosion that has been taking place. Maybe it's the chaos before the change IDK. I'm glad I left there though I started to get an icky feeling about things going down and I've found it's best for me to just move on when others are clinging to their negativity. You say what you have to and leave it at that.

I hope you are out there reading the forum posts or will be in the near future. Thank you for the interpretation of my numbers. Change is very accurate for me for awhile now, but feel a major evolution of energies right now as most of us probably do.

I can only speak for myself but my instinct tells me this is a very good thing! Follow your passions and you won't go wrong.
