we are here...

yesterday i spent the morning digging post holes and
stringing wire - making a kennel section for my dog
to separate her from bill's dogs, because she cannot
play nicely with others - yet

then, we began to make arrangements to go shooting
at an abandoned rock quarry - bill is going to teach
us how to shoot

today, sis and bill went to town to lay in supplies -
mostly water, some tools, and ammo

i never thought i would condone the use of guns

but out here, i can see the use for them, for food
(rabbits and elk are fast) and protection (not so much
the hordes which may show up later, but defense against
ill-will of government forces)

no, we are not paranoid - we just prefer to be prepared
and not to be sitting ducks

my exact location will be confidential, as i prefer to
be in peace

more later....

I think you are smart to learn how to handle a firearm and draw a good bead. I think someone to be smart when learning to protect yourself.

Good shooting winehippie.

ty for advice pixie otter, i will certainly use it

and gabe, coming from you, who i have come to know as
a gentle soul, i take some comfort in your words.... cuz
as an old peacenik, i never condoned guns

i raised my son in a house where no weapons were
condoned and i never even let him have any of those
boy "war toys", and was of the opinion that differences
could always be settled with words and that violence was
something a person drew to themselves....

just another old belief of mine which has been shot to
hell... and now i am somewhat soothed to know that
we have citizen militia groups up in these hills behind us
who may come in handy if the hordes arrive.....

Yes I do try to be gentle as much as I can, but as you said so well to be prepared against the ruling hoards is a good idea.

A gun in the hands of thoughtful people is just a tool just as your post hole diggers were a tool...LOL...LOL.

I have built my share of fences and strung barb wire also so I can feel for you after a day of that kind of very hard work.
