When Will You Die?
Ever ask yourself that question? I used to, but don't any longer. I figure I'll die when I'm ready, and not a moment sooner.
John Cali

The other day I came across an article and video on CBS News about a 112-year-old man in Great Falls, Montana, USA.
At that age, Walter Breuning is the oldest man in America. Not terribly remarkable by itself.
There have been older folks.
But Walter is in near-perfect health and, as the article says, ". . . still has every last marble."

Watch the video. You'll be amazed at this delightful, bright, funny man who'd be the envy of folks fifty or sixty years younger.
Last week I read an article by Alan Cohen, Passion for Life. In it Alan described four women in their 80s and 90s who were chorus dancers
in Harlem in the 1930s and 1940s. Today they're still dancin g. Called The Silver Belles, they continue amazing standing-room-only audiences,
sixty and seventy years later!

In a recent newsletter, Dr. Andrew Weil reported four characteristics of people who live the longest:
* They exercise regularly
* They socialize and keep in touch with family and friends
* They have a positive attitude about life
* They have a firm spiritual foundation
What keeps these older folks going? Well, Dr. Weil gives us a few clues. But there's more to it than that.
Do we choose how long we live? And when we die?

Here's Chief Joseph.
Chief Joseph
Right here at the outset, let us answer John's two questions.
Yes, you do choose how long you will live. And yes, you do choose when you will die, either deliberately or by default.
You can even choose how you will die.
Does all that sound like far-out fantasy to you? Probably, at least to some of you.
But it is absolutely true!

Friends, the more joyful you are, the more you will flourish.
It's that simple
. When you're in a state of joy, a state of feeling good, life just flows perfectly. Everything falls into place for you.
All you hav e asked the universe for comes to you.
But more to the real point of this conversation today -- your physical bodies thrive when you are fully aligned with your higher selves.
And when you are feeling good mostly, it's impossible for your bodies to fall ill.
Or if they do fall ill and you restore yourselves to that place of feeling good, so too will your bodies restore themselves to
that natural state of perfect health, balance, and alignment.

It is just that simple. Joy -- feeling good -- is the key, the "secret" to living the life of your dreams.

As long as you are joyful, immersing yourselves in the pleasures and passions of physical life, the longer you will live.
Do you choose how long you will live? Yes! As long as you choose to be joyful, you will live.
Even well beyond what your society considers a "normal" life span.

When you begin to lose that sense of joy, you begin to die.
When you finally lose it, you die.
You will die in whatever way "works" for you -- illness, accident, by your own hand, and so on.
Does it have to be that way. No!

You can live in a state of joy and then one day decide you've done it all, had enough of physical life, and simply move on.
You can die in a state of perfect health.
Your bodies don't need to deteriorate as you move through the years.
You don't need to invent an excuse to die -- accident, illness, or whatever.
You can simply put your bodies in bed, in a state of joy,
and go to sleep intending to wake up on the other side.
Dying can be that easy. It's the easiest thing you will ever do.

Live joyfully. Die joyfully.

Since 1992, John Cali has been communicating with a non-physical
entity called Joseph. In one of his many physical lifetimes, this spirit
was incarnated as the legendary Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe
in what is now the state of Oregon in the northwestern USA. These
messages are a blend of information from Joseph, other spirits in the
"Joseph group," and John.

hi hippie

glad you are finding them interesting...that's the really wonderous part about this forum...different ways to see stuff
and communicated in friendship and sharing.

i wasn't always into the joy thing..just maybe the last yaer or so..but i find that it works for me and it seems to have pulled information to me that re-affirms my direction ..of course we know how it works
as long as you are angry and think everything sucks that's what you see..i am finding that looking for joy and holding that vibration thur the day is working much better for me...
so of course we want to share what works for us... lol! not that any one way is best...

and while you are en~joying some of these things i have found ..i am en~joying your journey for your bravery at doing it and your absolute beauty in sharing it ...

so wow to it all..like my one friend has quoted to me for years..IT'S ALL GOOD.... sunny

When Will You Die? Followup

When Will You Die?, our article from two weeks ago, generated some
interesting feedback from our readers, all of it positive. Except for
one email.
John Cali

Here's that one email, exactly as I received it -- except it was in
all-capital letters. In email lingo that's called "shouting."

"Do you always need to be so negative and morbid?

"Can't you ever share a positive, uplifting, spirit empowering
message to help us feel joy in our day?

"There are so many sad and depressing, doom and gloom messages
out there, generated by the dark. Why do you have to add to them?

"Who wants to read something like this when we are all just
barely hanging in here, waiting for the ascension and divine changes.
Praying, and hoping we will be here to experience the wondrousness to
come. How does it help anyone to read about death. Who cares???

"I mean really, come on, think about it John!!!"

I'll assume the letter writer is male -- he didn't give me a name. (I
advise against that, as I'm inclined to ignore folks who won't
identify themselves. But I made an exception in this case.)

Apparently he was more upset by Chief Joseph's comments than mine. (By
the way, I do not censor Chief Joseph's words. I just give you what I
get.)

I find it strange this person should ask if we ". . . always need to
be so negative and morbid?" I wondered if he'd even read the same
article all the others had.

Over the years people have consistently commented that Chief Joseph's
messages are so joyful and uplifting. However, we certainly have our
critics. When you put yourself out to the public, you're not going to
please all the people all the time. But the critics are a small
minority of our readers. And they don't usually stick around very
long.

In my opinion, Chief Joseph's messages can sometimes be stern, but at
the same time also uplifting, loving, and positive. Of course, I'm a
bit biased.

Enough from me. I'll let Chief Joseph respond to this person now.

(As a footnote here, I did not expect Joseph to go on as long as they
did in what follows. This is the longest Joseph message I can remember
in recent years, and it took me by surprise.)

Here's Chief Joseph.

Chief Joseph

As John said, we have our critics. Even those who've faithfully
followed us for years don't always agree with us. That is as it should
be.

We are not here, friends, to convince you our way is the only way. We
have always said if anything we say does not resonate with you, then
reject it. The only "right" for you is what feels good to you, not
what anyone else says.

You certainly have many teachers out there today, all of them of good
intent. But you will not be drawn to all of them. Be choosy -- follow
only those you feel a bond with.

Ultimately, of course -- and we've also said this for years -- your
own inner guidance is your absolute highest and best authority, bar
none -- including Chief Joseph.

You are your own saviors. Period!

When you get that, you won't be, as our letter writer put it, "just
barely hanging in here, waiting for the ascension and divine changes.
Praying, and hoping we will be here to experience the wondrousness to
come."

The wondrousness, the time you've been waiting for is now. The savior,
the one you've been waiting for is you.

So many of you have been waiting for 2012, the so-called "ascension."
If you're doing that, you've already "missed the boat."

Nothing is going to happen in 2012, except 2013 will follow it.

You are already "ascending," as you call it. You have been ascending
for years. Day by day, you're growing and moving into the higher
vibrations, the new energies. You're doing that right now, as you read
these words.

No one is coming to save you. You don't need to be saved. All you
"need" is to remember and acknowledge who you are -- God in human
form.

It's time to reclaim your power, to take full responsibility for your
lives. It's time to begin finding more joy, pleasure, and passion in
your lives. In so doing, you will find yourselves "ascending" into the
higher frequencies, the dimensions from which we speak to you.

The veil is growing thinner. You've already begun to ascend. What you
call "death" is simply another, and inevitable, step on your eternal
journey of joy and growth. Death is not something to be dreaded or
feared. It's a natural part of your journey. You have experienced
death many times, and it's always been a joyful experience.

All is well, friends. Take full responsibility for your lives, for you
do create your own realities. The foundation of your being is freedom.
You are free to create your lives as you see fit.

Enjoy your freedom. Be your own "savior." Love yourselves and all
others without limit. You're all interconnected. Put aside your petty
differences (and they're all petty). There is no good or evil. There
is only experience, only consciousness.

When you see that as clearly as we do, when you love yourselves as we
love you, you will have ascended.
