altruism vs. egoism Empty
PostSubject: altruism vs. egoism   altruism vs. egoism Icon_minitimeThu Apr 16, 2009 6:24 pm

how do these concepts fit in with service to self vs. service to others?

i had always thought that there could not be altruism because whenever
i did something for someone else, even though i did not expect
anything in return from them, it made me feel so good that it was
a reward, emotionally, for me

your thoughts, please as i grapple with these concepts...
i do not want to be committed to service to others in a selfish
way, just because i think it may be the way to other dimensions....

help!

I think it's all about playing the balancing act. One can not exist without the other. They both serve a purpose.

The ego creates a self identity to individually express itself and needs self assurance and this can be done in an altruistic manner and intention.

It's what side of the polarity do you want to focus more on.

WH if it feels natural to be of service to others and no effort is required continue with that flow.

i think that if you did it so you would feel good THEN it might be service to self

but since you are doing it just to do it

the feel good later is just your soul smiling..and a perk

Synchronicity. I'm reading Operation terra now and came across this paragraph

"If you feel moved to help out during others’ travail, by all means help out. But don’t do it out of
guilt or to “earn points in Heaven.” It is perfectly all right for you to simply enfold them in your
love and light and not do anything outwardly to hinder their process or movement toward their
destiny".

A few more thoughts to only ADD ... to the ALL THE BEAUTIFUL statements ALREADY given.....

I HIGHLY AGREE WITH BALANCE being IMPORTANT .... AND UNAVOIDABLE!!!!!

... AND .... AS per the "RA MATERIAL".....

... THE CONDITION FOR BEING "HARVESTABLE"... TO THE 4th DIMENSION IS:

OVER 51% SERVICE TO OTHERS, LESS THAN 50% SERVICE TO SELF

.... which makes a whole lot of sence to me ... if you choose to SEE MORE THAN ONE OF US..... in this PLAY ....

.... if you work within the language of there being many of US HERE .... then 51% service to OTHERS ...

............. IS VERY VERY ACHIEVABLE ........

.............. AND ................ (as per what I am playing with).........

... IN STEPPING INTO ...... PURE ONENESS ....... (if or as so desired).....

"AT TIMES"...... "AS PER EDGAR CAYCE", the "Convesations with GOD" books, and most likely..... .. .... "SOME and or ALL OF OUR OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCES".......

OFTEN....."THE ONLY WAY TO.... GET TO THE OTHER SIDE OF A BELIEF"..."so to say"...

... even when ... THE MAJORITY .... believe DIFFERENTLY .....

..... IS TO ACT OUT ONES/YOUR CONVICTIONS!!!!

Although most would agree that ONE should do so from the perspective of .....

FOLLOWING ONE's BLISS, CONSCIENCE, &/OR.. "WHAT ONE BELIEVES THEY NEED/KNOW TO DO"!!!

.... WHAT MAY BE VERY IMPORTANT TO .... ALSO ..... THINK ABOUT .......

... IS .... "THIS MAY BE WHAT".... "IS EXACTLY OCCURRING" .....

.... with "ALL THOSE WHO THINK DIFFERENTLY FROM US!!!

.... THUS ..... ALL ARE ALWAYS.... IN A "PROCESS" of COMING TO GREATER AND GREATER ......

.... UNDERSTANDINGS!!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

........ THUS THE/MY ENJOYMENT I HAVE IN ....

... FOLLOWING MY BLISS (in what I feel I need to do).....

..... & ALSO ... "WATCHING THE WORLD WAKE UP FROM HISTORY"... (KNOWING ALL IS WELL)!!

----------------------------------------------------------

..... GREAT POSTING!!!

.... AND QUESTIONS of WHICH ... I AM SURE ... WE ALL "THINK UPON"......

BLESSINGS AND ALOHA...

Steve
