well i have alwasy liked trying plants that are ornamental as well as edible..and according to an article hubby found there is a climbing spinach called

copying here

Red Malabar
is a beautiful plant that blesses growers with delicious tender leaves perfect for summer salad or stir-fry.
Unlike true spinach, red malabar thrives in heat and it's vining habit makes it perfect fir for vertical spaces.

so a trip to the garden store nearby and we found it..but not with the regular seeds..we ask and it was over in the flower seed section..
it is called climbing spinach from Livingston seed co. and is labeled ornamental & edible
climbing spinach / basella rubra
so i am going to plant in on my fence with some beans that are the same ..ornamental and edible..
