| Millitary operation under the guise of Nasa ;) I wonder if the Millitary have left any clues on their websites as to the real purpose of this mission? One to definetley search for if you don't mind your ip being recorded on Millitary servers LOL - Quote :
- NASA administrators and international scientists are arriving in Alice Springs to help launch balloons the size of football fields into the stratosphere.
The giant plastic balloons, which can float at altitudes of up to 40 kilometres, hold germanium detectors, rare telescopes that collect data on x-rays and gamma rays.
The telescopes weigh two to three tonnes and cost between $5 million and $10 million. Linkage: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/02/10/2815453.htm?section=justin | |
