Mythic Times: Cosmic Timing, Mysteries of the Eight

'The microcosm reflects the macrocosm' was the ancients way to express
the reality of holographic or fractal time and space. Every cycle is a
circle of eight phases with eight turning points, critical change
times when extraordinary opportunities arise. Every place of natural
power and every city center unfolds its own regional zodiac because
this is the global implicate order, the Earth Zodiac is fractal.
Likewise every circle drawn becomes an eight-spoked wheel reflecting
the cosmic order.

Time is fractal, each day is like a year. Sunrise resonates with
Spring Equinox, True Noon with Summer Solstice. This is far more than
similarity. Rituals practiced at Spring Equinox resonate with all
Sunrises in the zodiacal year. Every Noon hour is a good time to leap
fire and release what we need to20let go. Eight ritual hours in the day
correspond to the Equinoxes, Solstices and Cross-Quarter Days in the
year. The canonical hours of the Catholics parallel the witches
sabbaths of the year. The year divides into 24 fifteen day periods
called 'horae' as the day divides into 24 hours. Every 3rd hour of the
day is a canonical hour, every 3rd hora of the year is a canonical
hora when we all possess more free will and power to reshape our
world. The August 7-22 Lughnasa Hora is our time to bring change.

HU and Ock, the Sun God and the Eight

The Druids were masters of celebration and developed a sophisticated
system of natural energy engineering I call 'Druid tech.' A total
eclipse of the Sun is the most important event that can happen in the
heavens because it signals a resetting of the Earth's relationship to
the Sun, one of the Druids two primary celestial deities. The other
was the Moon seen as a harmonic of the Earth. The Earth/Moon Spirit
they called Cerridwen and the Sun they named HU. Ock, the alternative
name for the Sun deity signified the sacred Oak and the eight (Ock)
solar gates each year when oak is burned to open the way between
worlds. The solar power gate next following a solar eclipse (Aug 6-8
this year) was believed especially important in activating a new mode
of life in the world.

"The Druids chief deities were reducible to two - a male and a
female, the g reat father and mother - HU and Cerridwen, distinguished
by the same characteristics as belong to Osiris and Isis, Bacchus and
Ceres, or any other supreme god and goddess representing the two
principles of all Being." ~ The Secret Teachings of All Ages by
Manly P. Hall

"And that which came to meet the soul (as light and sound come to meet
our outer eyes and ears) was called HU, the spiritual world." (p. 137)
"The God HU was the all-ruling Divinity of Western Celtic
mythology." (p. 153) "The Mysteries of HU revealed the other pole of
human life: the ascent out of the body into the 'glorified' state of
expansion of the consciousness in the spiritual world." (p. 153) "And
HU could bring music to the consciousness of waking man and teach it
to him, because he himself could hear in sleep the harmonies of the
spheres, and his passage from waking to sleeping to waking was
unbroken by any obliteration of consciousness. This was the summit of
initiation experience. (p. 165)" ~ The Flaming Door: Mission of the
Celtic Folk Soul, p. 165, Eleanor C. Merry, 1936

"Our word Eigh-t names the Horse-God (his Celtic name is Eigh) and the
eight hours. ***These eight Hor-ses, or Hour-Signs, are still shown
harnessed abreast, in the carvings of Java which illustrate our Day-
god's car. *** The Eigh-t chambers name the eight Hours, eight Hor-
ses, eight notes, eight divisions of the compass, and every other
eight or the Oct, or Oak-God who is 'Oct,' or Eight." ~ The
Key to the Universe, p 285 by F. Homer Curtiss

"When Odin visits the giant worlds, he rides an eight-legged steed
named Sleipnir (glider), fathered by Loki, and he uses various names
and epithets signifying in each case his special mission. He possesses
a magic ring that disperses 8 more of itself every 9th
night." ~ The Masks of Odin p 36 by Elsa-Brita Titchenell

"St. George, the reincarnation of Og or Ock, the Celtic solar giant,
assumed command of the high places together with his fellow 'dragon
killer' St. Michael.." ~ The View Over Atlantis, p 40 by John Michell

The British esotericist and author John Michell has long been a
favorite writer of mine, his City of Revelation totally altered my
life in 1975 as it inspired me to build a huge pyramid for the
People's Bicentennial stage in Washington DC for the 4 July 1976
celebration.
It is mportant to note how John Michell carefully pointed out in his
writings that the lance of St George and sword of St Michael were used
to anchor or fix the power of the 'dragon' rather than to slay the
dragon as suggested in many story books. Similarly this energy is
fixed with standing stones and with fires lit on mountains at the Ock
times of the year.

The Magical Mystery of Tarot Key #8 Strength

Deep breathing oxygenates body and brain and helps us take in more
chi. Oxygen is #8 in the periodic table of elements, oxygen has 8
electrons orbiting 8 protons and 8 neutrons packed in its nucleus.
The pattern of the 8 is like a sinusoidal image of the breath and also
illustrating the way chi circulates through the body.

The Serpent and Dragon are related in myth and both represent cycles
or sinusoidal energy flow. The way of taming the serpent or dragon is
symbolized in Tarot Key #8. The first lesson in the old dragon taming
school is "Don't look the dragon in the eye." Direct attention to
primal energy leads to the dragon taking over so the charge of psychic
energy is apt to be lost rather than put to purpose. Arthur's first
lesson from Merlin is "Don't let your passions destroy your dreams,
train your passions to serve your dreams."

The infinity sign over the head of the woman (feminine soul) in
Strength signifies a balancing of yin and yang hemispheres of the
brain at a point (the crown chakra or 'soul star') that may be
contacted directly through meditation or by chanting / toning.
Strength gives power to tame and channel the wild forces of huma n
nature. This is done simply by focusing on the light above while being
aware of the primal energy or emotional discord to be transformed.
Deep breathing transforms chaotic energy or 'prima materia' into a chi
that will power the crown. The breath (oxygen #8) transforms and
energy flows where attention goes. Tarot Key #8 = Teth, the Serpent,
in Hebrew mystical tradition, the infinity sign overhead is the
serpent trained to the crown.

There are 8 special times of the day and year (and in other cycles)
when we have more free will to change our world. These are times to
turn around physically and psychologically and these are particularly
good times for deep breathing to bring transformation

Mid-Leo Lughnasa 'The Power Gate of
Fire'

Lammas is the season, so the wise folk say,
When love can grow as much by night
As love can grow by day. ~ ancient anonymous

The Sun is at mid-Leo on August 7th, one of the four cross-quarter
days of the year. Each cross-quarter is the midpoint of one of the
fixed signs of the zodiac. These signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and
Aquarius 'fix' the power of the elements especially at their
midpoints, the four elemental 'power gates'. Mid-Leo is the Power Gate
of Fire or Will. As Leo rules the heart, this is also a Power Gate=2 0of
Love.

Old world druids and nature magicians celebrated these 8 times of the
year when fire magic is most powerful. These 8 ‘solar power gates’ are
the Solstices, the Equinoxes and the 4 'Cross-Quarter Days' including
the Lammas seasonal midpoint on August 6-8. Ritual fires at this time
bring good luck for the following season. When we don't do fires,
Mother Nature creates her own. Lightning strikes cause fires
especially at these times. Small ritual fires at places of natural
power can offset Nature's need for larger fires. Lammas, the cross-
quarter day of the summer season, is a time most favored for mountain
top fires and picnics.

At this time followers of the old faith would go to sacred places on
mountains and hills to share a feast that included bread of the first
harvest, hence the name Lammas or 'loaf mass'. Bread made or brought
to the mountain is believed to be imbued with transcendent spirit like
the Hobbits Lammas bread in Lord of the Rings. This ceremony may also
be done at any time during the August 7-22 Hora.

Note: One of the best places I've found for outdoor fire is near the
old Cloudland Hotel site at the top of Roan Mt on the Tennessee /
North Carolina border. A group of us from Charlotte will be having a
'fire drum' and picnic there on August 7th. The fire will be lit at
1:34 pm, true noon here this time of year. All who live nearby are
welcome to join us - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roan_Mountain_State_Park
.

The mid-Leo power gate is a time for transforming, re-imaging,
realizing personal dreams, actualizing ambitions, renewing cultural
ideals, uniting the worlds. Mid-Leo August 6-8 is a special time for
illuminated vision. Dreams and portents presage what's to come in the
Autumn season. Take note!

The Catholic Feast of Transfiguration on August 6th celebrates the
time when Jesus went up on the mountain and was illuminated.

"Then Jesus went forth unto a mountaintop to pray. And as he prayed a
brilliant light appeared; his form became as radiant as precious
stone; his face shown like the Sun; his garments seemed as white as
snow; the son of humanity became the son of God. He was transformed
that the people of the Earth might see the possibilities of
humanity." ~ The Aquarian Gospel, Levi

August 6-8 is one of the four fixed sign 'cross quarter day' power
gates and one of the 8 fire festivals or solar power gates in the
annual cycle of celebration. The Druids revered the Sun as the most
powerful manifestation of universal spirit and believed this spiritual
power most present at the 8 seasonal turning points. The central way
of connecting with spirit at these times was simply circling fire
'Sunwise' or clockwise in celeb ration. Every circle becomes an eight-
spoked wheel like the Wheel of Fortune of Tarot. This is more
especially so when we dance the circle on one of the eight spokes of
the year.

A reason for going to that solar prana is more present at higher
elevations where magnetic inversions occur and pranic energy or plasma
from the Sun flows down their lines of force. Jesus often went to the
mountain to pray because there he could better be heard by 'the father
who art in heaven.'

This year the Sun is exactly 15 degrees of Leo at 5:15 am edt (9:15 am
gmt) on August 7th. The midpoint of Leo is when the power of the Sun
god Lugh is felt most strongly. This is a time of death, rebirth and
healing of the king and the death/rebirth of the order of things in
the world as a whole. What is seeded now unfolds its influence through
the August 7-22 hora, what is unfolded shapes the harvest.

The Druids built fires and beat drums following a solar eclipse, not
'to bring back the Sun' as many believe, but to tune into and power on
a new rhythm for a new creation. Understanding eclipses was key to
Druid religious science, Stonehenge was built to predict eclipses.
Following a total solar eclipse the next solar power gate is important
for celebration. Lammas / Lughnasa marks the cross-quarter of Summer,
the mid-Leo ‘power gate of fire’ when the Sun is exactly halfway
between Summ er Solstice and Equinox. Now the Druids would stoke up
their fires and beat drums to power on a new cosmic creation.

"Lugh, the 'Shining One," was an ancient Irish hero and Sun god. Known
also as the 'Wonderworker,' he was a magician, poet, warrior,
storyteller, craftsman and ruler... Lugh was credited with the
invention of horsemanship and horse races were featured in his
festival. On this day too, horses and cattle were ridden through
rivers because the Tiatha de Danaan believed strongly in the health-
giving and purifying powers of water. Offerings of wildflowers and
grain were made to ensure a good harvest and were placed on hilltops,
at sacred wells and at standing stones... Lammas is the time for
wishes; wishing the crops to thrive and the harvest to be bountiful.
It is also the time to harvest our own wishes and dreams. Lugh, the
Wonderworker, is a reminder that anything is possible and the
possibilities are unlimited. In the spirit of the Tiatha de Danaan, an
ancient tradition of this time is to wade into the nearest body of
water, to be cleansed and healed. In the spirit of the harvest
festival, we may now reap the benefits of all that we have sown."

Nature's Power

&nbs p; Key to Cosmic Timing ~ The
Canonical Hours

* Beginning Times for Canonical
Hours on August 7th in New York City*

Time of Day, Latin Term
and Corresponding Time of Year

6:04 am
Sunrise Prime Spring Equinox 0 Aries
9:33 am Midmorning
Tierce Beltane 15 Taurus
&n bsp; 1:02 pm True Noon
Sext Summer Solstice 0 Cancer
4:31 pm Midafternoon

8:00 pm
Sunset Vespers Fall Equinox 0 Libra
10:31 pm Midevening
Complin Hallowmas 15 Scorpio
1:02 am True Midnight
Nocturn Winter Solstice 0 Capricorn
3:33 am
Dawn Matins Candlemas 15 Aquarius

Note: These times apply for 3 days before and after the exact date and
will need to be refigured about once a week.

Figuring the Hours - Sunrise and Sunset are found in the newspaper
weather section or online. True Noon (when the Sun is most directly
overhead) is halfway between Sunrise and Sunset. The beginning times
for the other four magic hours are found by dividing the quarters of
the day: Midmorning is halfway between Sunrise and True Noon, etc.

The canonical hours are given Latin names of the planetary hours
beginning with Sunrise: prime is 1st hour, tierce is the 3rd, sext is
6th, etc. Matins is from Matuta, the Roman goddess of Dawn. Planetary
hours vary in length through the year with night hours longer and day
hours becoming shorter after Summer Solstice.

"A Year is as a Day": The canonical hours in the day correspond to the
equinoxes, solstices and cross-quarter days in the year . Day and year
follow the same 8 phase octave beat. True Noon corresponds to Summer
Solstice and the August 6/7 cross-quarter corresponds to Midafternoon
or Nones.

0AThe 8 canonical hours are ideal for prayer, meditation, or for
beginning any new activity. These times are best for making important
calls, beginning meetings, doing a ceremony, beginning or attending a
social gathering, starting a new work project, signing contracts, etc.
More magical synchronicities occur in these hours and whatever is
initiated will flow more easily and be more successful.

Being key to illumination and transformation, canonical hours are
called 'magic hours', 'prayer hours' and 'power hours'.

"All power is of one kind, a sharing of the nature of the world. The
mind that is parallel with the laws of Nature will be in the current
of events, and strong with their strength." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson,
The Conduct of Life 1860

Cosmic Links and Notes

The Chiron Decan of Leo - A great ritual transformation occurs each
year as the Sun transits the Centaurus / Chiron decan of Leo from
August 2nd to 12th. According to Greek myth, the wise centaur Chiron
gathers all the gods and goddesses around a fiery altar on a mountain
top to unite them in overcoming the evil Titans. The Sun transits the
midpoint of this Leo decan on August 6-8.

President Obama, born August 4th, is a good example of the Chiron
archetype. Intro: http://www.san.beck.org/Astro-Decs.html#14

The Earth's Magnetotail Charges The Surface Of The Full Moon

Astrophysicists have found that the moon's surfac e becomes strongly
electrified during each full moon. The moon passes through the Earth's
magnetotail, a cone of highly-charged particles, for about 6 days each
month. [Sun-Earth-Moon are unified]

'Auroral Angels' are winged figures with radiant heart centers that
can become visible in auroral displays just as the static electricity
of an astral phantasm may attract and organize particles in smoke, fog

use smoke to make the invisible visible.

0A"Australian wallabies are eating opium poppies and creating crop

has said." Why? Because running in circle clockwise (Sunwise) is a
sure way to clear through the scary part of the astral world that may
become apparent when consciousness is altered through drugs or in
other ways. Animals have evolved in the presence of naturally
occurring mind altering substances so they know what to do. The lesson
here is for us.

Why Is Drumming Healing? http://www.drumjourney.com/articles/xflinn.htm

When we drum, we connect with the Creator and experience our natural
childlike innocence thr ough drumming, rhythm and movement. This form
of play facilitates spiritual expansion because drumming naturally
brings one into the relaxed alpha state of meditation. Usually the two
brain hemispheres issue different wave frequencies, but drumming
synchronizes the left and right brain hemispheres, bringing one into a
healing state that only meditation can provide. There is nothing more
connecting or healing than coming home to our center and experiencing
the nurturing, loving compassion of our Creator through the heartbeat
of the drum. The relaxation achieved by drumming helps us to see, feel
and know our connection with the Divine, with all of life, and with
each other. Because of this, it naturally awakens our creativity and
mental capacity, and helps to expand our heart.

How Drums are used in healing http://www.healingmusic.org/Main/catalog/Drums.htm
The drum has been used for healing purposes throughout the world for
thousands of years, in tribal societies with their shamanic traditions
to communicate with the spirit world, as well as a tool for social
integration and to restore harmony. According to West-African wisdom
teachings, emotional disturbance manifests as an irregular rhythm that
blocks the vital physical energy flow. As regular even rhythms are
regarded as a sign of health, these rhythms can heal the person by
0Atouching him or her in an immediate and powerful way, removing
blockages and releasing tension. Thus dance and drumming serve as
preventive remedies, and they help people to become more aware and
balanced... According to current medical research, stress is a cause
of 98% of all disease. Not only heart attacks, strokes, immune system
breakdowns, but every disease known, with the exception of two
viruses, has now been linked to stress. Recent biofeedback studies
show that drumming along with our own heartbeats for 15 minutes alters
brainwave patterns (increasing alpha) and dramatically reduces stress.
So drumming actually "meditates" us!

An Eclipse Message from Gretchen Lawlor of Langley, Washington.

"After the Full Moon eclipse today, August 5th, we will begin to feel
a reduction in the emotional/energetic turbulence caused by an unusual
clustering of eclipses that began on July 7th. Eclipses have to do
with light and shadow, and tend to bring troubling habitual attitudes
into the forefront of our awareness. Eclipses are also breaks in the
natural rhythms between Sun, Moon and us on Earth, and as such invite
us to break away from those less helpful behaviors. Some sabotaging
habit or attitude has been brought into the light in recent days, and
there is great cosmic support in leaving it behind. This will be
obvious for those with planets near 13 Leo/Aquarius."

PostSubject: Re: Mythic Times: Cosmic Timing, Mysteries of the Eight   Mythic Times: Cosmic Timing, Mysteries of the Eight Icon_minitimeSat Aug 15, 2009 4:38 pm

I would be very careful to believe everything that we read and then follow any ritual that is recommended.
As we know, good things are always used and then twisted to serve the dark side because the dark has always been in control of our "education".

I personally stay away from anything that is "magicial" or considered "sacred".
When I see words like "illumination and transformation" I cringe.

We don't need gurus or writings from 'experts' to enlighten us, our inner self and open heart will give us that if we let go of all that we were ever taught by 'them'.

Here is something about the connection of the Druids and Freemasons.

Churchill’s Druids and Britain's Satanic Prime Minister

It is a relatively little know fact that one of Britain’s most celebrated, though far from uncontroversial, statesmen, Winston Churchill, was a Druid. In the first decade of the twentieth century the still relatively obscure Churchill dabbled with a number of esoteric organisations most notably the Freemasons and his initiation into Druidic rites appears to have been an outgrowth of this.==

=Bourke was something of a lynchpin in British druidry, in addition to the above orders, he is also head of the Ancient Order of Druids Hermeticists which, decades before, had gained attention by holding annual Summer Solstice celebrations at Stonehence between 1901 and 1914. Bourke is also a Freemason and a member or leader of sevaral other quasi-Masonic initiatic orders thus continuing the traditional association between Masonry and Druidry.=

www.angelfire.com/weird2/obscure2/druid.html+Druids+were+masters&cd=10&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://74.125.155.132/search?q=cache:uwXyA1QlvEUJ:www.angelfire.com/weird2/obscure2/druid.html+Druids+were+masters&cd=10&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a
===========================

Also Druids were the priests and sorcerers of the nature religions

Sharing the druidic ideas of nature worship is witchcraft. The word “witch” is from th e Saxon word “wicca”, meaning sorcerer.
The Oxford Dictionary states that “wiccan” means bent, twisted, or warped as in “wicker” furniture. Combined with
the Middle English word, “wikke”, meaning “evil,” we get the modern word “wicked”, meaning bad, evil and depraved.
Because the worship of nature is the basis of their religious beliefs, large numbers of modern druids and “Wiccans” (witches)
are found in today’s ecology movements. The worship of the “earth spirit”, called “Gaia”, is also practiced by the “New
Age” movement.
The Druids worshipped Baal, one of the most powerful of all the demon kings. The common denominator in the practice
of druidism, witchcraft, satanism, and other occult crafts is the use of meditation for making contact with the “other side” –
be it spirits, guides, contacts, ascended masters, etc. All of these terms refer to the devil and his demons, the true source
of all these occultic powers, all done in the name of Satan.

you are perfectly correct..we need to question anyone telling us anything or asking us to do anything
question everything and discern discern discern...then think about it

i am a firm believer in looking at and reading anything and everything..i am totally curious by nature..but i am also
cynical and questioning too...
i poke at stuff to see what happens
but
it boils down to taking what you can use and leaving the rest..for me anyway..
no need to argue about who says what and if they are right..for me

i post a lot of astrology cause it makes me laugh..and sometimes in there are real gems amoungst the giggles....
if someone says that on a certain tuesday the world will suffer a hit or a win..i watch and see if they are correct...i do not invest a lot of emotion into it..
but it is a past time..like watching the horses run and picking one...it can be fun if you aren't investing on the outcome..

i used to think i was investing in the outcome of the earth or the human species by finding tidbits of info in strange places..but even that i am not sure of anymore...
so i observe...and ..question..

i just wanted to clear that up that just because i post something ..don't consider that i am endorsing it...i am merely turning it over
to look at it more closely and maybe enjoy a chuckle or find a morsel of something i or perhaps someone else can use..
