Zuni, I knew you'd be a blast to party w/!
Sneaking into shows, bribeing security gaurds, hidin' in bathrooms to meet the band, just my style back in the day too (ok still is sometimes). I knew we were kindred souls sister!

I love widespread, probaly seen them 50 or so times since I was 16.
This is too funny, we have some mutual acquaintances! Some of my friends who work for iCips.net (that's an awesome site btw, w/ a ton of free live shows to watch in the archive) got vip passes for a bunch of us at rothbury (music festival) last year and I got to meet John Bell, Dave Skools, and, Jimmy Herrin.
Oh and you're right about that show being at redrocks. That place is so cool and it has so much naturally awesome energy even before the crowd files in. I just wish they'd put in an escalator (not really, but I remeber getting a little winded the last time I made that climb up from the parking lot!). I have friends in Vail, and I try to get up there to see them whenever there's a good show at redrocks.
Yonder rocks! I was supposed to see them friday and saturday but the guitar player's wife got sick and they cancelled both shows, so we just threw a big party at my buddy's farm and blasted a bunch of bluegrass!
I guess it's probably obvious by now, but my life is pretty much guided by music, I actually just turned down a pretty good job offer so I can go on a mini tour w/ Phish this summer.
Love the Leftover btw.
Funny yonder tune: "Two Hits". Enjoy.

great tune.....i was lookin for some vids of leftover playing the washboard with spoons but i didn´t find any ......if ya find one can you stick it up.........
leftover was my favorite band to see live........i never had any albums though........
man back in the day i was wild........i was a stage rusher.......and i usually made it up tooo......
and once in denver i was at a decendants show and milo the lead singer helped me climb up on stage to sing a song with him..........dam that was a wicked night.............samething happend with the longbeach dube all stars............and i was always climbing up singing with the bands that came locally........
here is the decendants song.........
When I get the time I'd like to sit down and write a little rhyme for you Just a couple few I'd tell you what you mean to me
When I get the time I'd put it all down And pick you up I'd say throw it all away The world is me and you tonight
Will there come a day With nothing standing in my way Loving that dream Within your arms Well I'll make it happen some day
When I get the time
I look in your eyes Warm places inside I've never been before I gotta find some more I know you don't owe me anything
When I get the time When I get the guts To live my life for me And do what I want to do I'd be the friend that you said you once knew
Will there come a day When we give up and turn away And I'd have nothing left Nothing left except I'd have all the time in the world
Time to remember Look through the window And time to cry Time to cry I gotta get the time
Where can I find the time?

Ha! That's so much easier to do as a girl! I'd love to have seen that.
My older sister is a huge decendants fan btw, and it kinda rubbed off on me, I guess that's why I like so many really different bands like, say, Rancid, Flaming Lips, Grateful Dead, Disco Biscuits, Black Crowes, Fugazi, Talking Heads, etc., etc., etc....
I hope you never tried to crash the stage at a Black Flag show though.......
Henry Rollins seems slightly opposed to any impromptu guests on stage.
I've never been the stage rushing type, I usually try to find an elevated spot just behind the floor (if it's a club). I've got some goofy ass friends though, check this out, this is a phish show I went to in antioch tn. about 9 years ago. Winona Judd came out and sang freebird for the encore (pretty wierd/unexpected but hey it was nashville). We had lost track of one of my older brother's friends after setbreak, (but it was no worry as it happened to us all the time on tour, we'd just meet up in the lots) but he was pretty loaded so we started to walk around a bit to look for him about the same time we looked up to see that somehow he had made his way up onto stage, and was dancing w/ Winona. She even wrapped her shawl around him! Friggin hillarious from our perspective. I just found this show recently while I was looking through my old ticket stubbs to see if I could find any youtubes of shows I've been to. Pretty Decent recording for nine years ago though. I really miss going on tour w/ big bro and the boys, but they all grew up long ago (I'm still waiting to feel like a grown up though ).
Awesome show and a pretty good version of Freebird (w/ Sam Bush, Del McCoury, and Ricky Skaggs) to boot!
And my favorite phish song, "Harry Hood" from earlier in the the same show.
There's a line in this songs that goes, "you can feel good, think about hood", and I tell ya, any time I feel a bit sad, I can think of this song and feel better.

Has anyone here every heard of Mishka? He has this really cool acoustic reggae vibe. I just discovered him. His style is really chill.

Nope. Sounds cool though. Got any links?
This is one of those songs that for some reason or another I'm a little embarrased to admit I like. Not really sure why though , 'cause it's a good song/cool beat w/ a smart message by a cute english bird , and she's pretty funny to boot!

Hey thanks NWO, mishka's pretty good, I liked that. Very chill.
I saw these guys at wakarusa festival (from these vids actually) last year and now they're really high on my fantasy tour list.
This guy Chris Berry (w/ the headband and french national team jearsey) is from so. cal. and somehow found his way to africa where he started panjea and became a huge sensation selling out huge 50,000 seat venues around south Africa. He plays the mbira hand piano (although it kinda looks like he's 'texting' while he's playing :D). I posted one song from this show earlier but I just found a few more.
Panjea - Desert Dawn
Panjea - Love on a Mountain

All that you touch And all that you see All that you taste All you feel And all that you love And all that you hate All you distrust All you save And all that you give And all that you deal And all that you buy Beg, borrow or steal And all you create And all you destroy And all that you do And all that you say And all that you eat And everyone you meet And all that you slight And everyone you fight And all that is now And all that is gone And all that's to come And everything under the sun is in tune But the sun is eclipsed by the moon

And I will stroll the merry way And jump the hedges first And I will drink the clear Clean water for to quench my thirst And I shall watch the ferry-boats And theyll get high On a bluer ocean Against tomorrows sky And I will never grow so old again And I will walk and talk In gardens all wet with rain
Oh sweet thing, sweet thing My, my, my, my, my sweet thing And I shall drive my chariot Down your streets and cry hey, its me, Im dynamite And I dont know why And you shall take me strongly In your arms again And I will not remember That I even felt the pain. We shall walk and talk In gardens all misty and wet with rain And I will never, never, never Grow so old again.
Oh sweet thing, sweet thing My, my, my, my, my sweet thing And I will raise my hand up Into the night time sky And count the stars Thats shining in your eye Just to dig it all an not to wonder Thats just fine And Ill be satisfied Not to read in between the lines And I will walk and talk In gardens all wet with rain And I will never, ever, ever, ever Grow so old again. Oh sweet thing, sweet thing Sugar-baby with your champagne eyes And your saint-like smile....
